PART - A
The IQAC of the University in its
meeting held on 16th August 2005 finalized the AQAR and AQAR for
2004-2005 and reviewed the plan of action for 2005-06. In the light of this
action plan and the 5-year perspective plan of the University drafted in the
year 2004-2005, outcome was periodically monitored and timely follow-up actions
were initiated. Key role players at all levels were involved in the process.

3. Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune
Academic activities:
By an elaborate process,
a syllabus was prepared to introduce semester pattern for B.Pharm course from
2006-2007. Similarly, M.Pharm. syllabus was also modified and shall be
implemented from 2006-2007.
Research
activities:
Different research
proposals have been prepared and submitted to funding agencies for financial
assistance.
Extension
activities:
NSS organized camps in
the villages to improve overall life pattern of villages.
4. College of Physical Education, Pune
·
Two
guest lectures and two study tours (Shri Shivchatrapati Krida Sankul,
Mahalunge-Balewadi were organized to observe the National School Games,
organized by Director of Sports, Maharashtra.
·
With
collaboration of the Central Schools, college organized zone and Inter Zone
Central School Athletic Competition of Pune division at Balewadi sports
complex.
·
College
helped in organizing deaf and dumb students Schools Athletic Competition of
Pune division at Pune Police ground.
·
College
of Physical Education provided officials in Pune International Marathon Trust
to organize marathon race.

facilities are extended to general population.

Technology's Horticulture Training Centre, Talegaon.

Academic Activities:
·
Ten field visits
were organized.
Extension Activities:
·
The School
Environment Education Program has been initiated for project "Conservation
Education for critically important National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries
through a comprehensive environment education program".
·
Community Led
Environment Action Network CLEAN-India program with a vision of developing
cleaner environment has been embarked upon.
·
Sixteen
workshops were organized across the country to train 4458
school teachers and students.
7. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Information

academic calendar is prepared at the beginning of the year and followed
meticulously.

Continuing Education Programs/ Workshops/ Seminars were organized for the
faculty and students to keep them abreast with latest technologies and advances
in dentistry.

Core
Committee and departmental staff meeting were held to monitor and review
academic activities.
Research Activities:
·
Seven
research projects were initiated, out of which one was completed.
·
In
addition, previously approved projects were continued as longitudinal studies.
Extension Activities:
·
Sixteen
Dental check-up camps were conducted with 3000 patients examined and benefited,
and importance of oral hygiene was explained.
·
A
full-fledged dental care center was established at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital,
Pune for the benefit of the economically challenged people.
·
World
Health Day, Anti-tobacco Day, Oral Hygiene Day and Anti-AIDS day are observed
and charts, poster were displayed and
camps were conducted at various places in and outside the campus to increase
awareness about these issues.
·
NSS
activities like tree plantations, blood donation camps, street plays, etc. were
organized.
·
Collaboration
with Rotary Club of Khadki to provide free treatment to economically challenged
children from municipal schools.
·
Dental
check-up camps under of Young India initiative of Times of India.

College of Ayurved, Pune
Academic, Research and
Extension Activities:
·
Fifteen
guest lectures of experts from various fields were organized for UG and PG
students on topics such as Himalayan medicinal plants, Fire arm injuries,
Panchabhautikatva of vata etc.
·
Teachers were exposed to modern research
methods in Ayurvedic practice and trained to write project proposals. 10
proposals were submitted to AYUSH.
·
Students
were exposed to a variety of patients through conducting 36 camps at adjacent
rural and slum areas along with routine hospital OPD and IPD.
·
Students
were benefited by participating in NSS activities, especially ‘disaster
management’ during floods in Sangli district.
·
Revision
of BAMS syllabus was undertaken.
12. Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune
Academic Activities:
·
Organization
of guest lectures, seminars, and workshops benefited the faculty in gaining
comprehensive knowledge of the subject.
·
Bed
side clinics, Case discussion, arrangements and participation in health camps,
help young Physicians understand how to
treat judiciously and rationally, as a true practitioner of the ‘Healing Art’.
·
Participation
in seminars, quiz competitions, was encouraged. IIHP National / State level
seminar was organized, which was attended by staff and students of our college.
·
Teachers
have completed PG qualifications in concerned basic homoeopathic subjects.
Teachers attended various seminars at national and inter national level as part
of CME.
·
Breast
cancer research OPDs was established and research programme implemented in
Homoeopathic Hospital. New OPDs in Tropical Medicine, Homoeopathic de-addiction
and HMM were started launched.
·
Training
programme organized on Leadership Development & Disaster Management for NSS
volunteers.
Extension Activity:
·
Four
interns of Dept. of Community Medicine attended 4-day camp at Umerga, Dist.
Usmanabad for prevention of epidemic outbreak of Chickenguniya fever. This
activity was jointly organized with Centre for Youth Development &
Activities (Pune-based NGO). About 700 people received free preventive homoeopathic
medicine and services.
13. College of Nursing,
Pune
Academic Activities:
Following
academic activities were undertaken:

Simulated
experience in nursing arts laboratory to develop the basic skills and
techniques in nursing.
·
Posting
in various multi-specialty hospitals of Pune and across India to expose them to
the reality and develop more advanced clinical skills and for patient health
care services.
·
Teaching
the fundamental ethics in nursing from 1st year and throughout the course.
·
Placement
of students in various departments of the hospital as assistants to internal
and external coordinators of hospitals.
·
Teaching
of nursing process in class room settings and implementation of the theory
input in practical field by developing nursing process for each patient they
are assigned.
·
Evaluating
the patient’s progress and re-planning the care using nursing process.
·
Deputation
of staff and students to various workshops, seminars, conferences related to
quality nursing care.
·
Workshop
on “Quality Assurance In Nursing Practice” to make improvement in current
nursing practices.
·
Educational
visits and field trips to ISO and NABH certified hospitals and voluntary health
agencies to get acquainted with the quality practices.
·
Inputs
on basic communication skills, vernacular language (Marathi), and English
language to communicate effectively.
·
Students
were assigned to conduct seminars, practice teaching, panel discussion,
clinical teaching, and micro teaching to improve the communication skills.
·
Students
were facilitated to organize district level workshops.
·
Students
were involved in planning and implementation of various curricular and
co-curricular activities.
Research Activities:
·
Students
were acquainted with the research process by conducting a group research
project undertaken by the undergraduates.
·
Staff
members were motivated to conduct departmental research to implement
evidence-based practices and exploring new areas of nursing care.
·
Enrollment
of 5 new candidates to pursue Ph.D. degree.
Community Extension Activities:
·
Conducting
regular NSS activities in urban areas and 10 days of winter camp for rural
people to improve health and sanitation.
·
Awareness
through health education and health promotion programme.
·
Datte
Vasahat and Chavan Nagar urban slums were newly added in Community Health
Nursing experience. Nasrapur Village of Taluka Bhor was selected for rural
community health nursing experience as a part of community extension services
and for more exposure of students. Student from Yale University (USA) also
come to College of Nursing to get community health nursing experience as a
part of e education programme exchange.

ceiling) were arranged.

tours were conducted to various places such as Rajasthan, Bangalore, Ahmedabad
to study ancient and contemporary Indian architecture.
Co-curricular
activities
·

has Centre for Energy Conservation Studies (CECS) and Institutional Consultancy
Cell (ADB). Various awareness programs and workshops in energy conservation
were conducted for professionals, teachers and students of architecture.
·
Students
are members of Forum for Exchange and Excellence in Design which arranges
lectures of national and international eminent architects.
·
National
Association for Students of Architecture (N.A.S.A.) participated in 48th Annual
Convention at Mumbai and won G. Sen Trophy.
·
Industry-Institutional
interaction was organized in the form of awareness workshops and seminars in
association with MEDA, MNES, IIA and product manufactures of construction
industries.
Extra-curricular
activities
·
Students
published the annual issue “Sun-2006”.

Students
participated in many prestigious competitions and have won them.

organized the annual cultural and social event “Sanskriti”.

activities
·
Architectural
Research Cell (ARC) was established in
2004-05. ARC hosted paper presentation competition for students on topic
“Vernacular Architecture” from various Architecture Colleges in Maharashtra.

project titled ‘Cooling rate due to vegetation cover’ was started by preparing
base maps for pilot project.
Extension
activities

College
organizes exhibition of student’s work at corporation exhibition hall in city
to give them exposure to society.
