Profile
Bharati Vidyapeeth University is probably the only University in the country having Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Nursing college in the same campus. Established in 1990, the College of Ayurved, earlier had a permanent affiliation with University of Pune. The College runs courses of B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), as well as, of M.D. and M.S. degrees. The College offers a Diploma in Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (DNYS). Both of its graduate and postgraduate degrees are recognized and approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM). The College has its independent building and a library having a rich collection of books. It has well equipped laboratories. There is a 350 bedded separate Ayurvedic hospital attached to this College, with facilities OPD,IPD,ICU,Operation Thetare,X-rey Sonography unit and special treatment of Panchkarma wherein students are given clinical training. One of the prestigious achievements of the College is that, it has been accredited by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of Government of India as a Research and Development Centre. The College has a well - nurtured and well - developed garden, with medicinal plants [ Herbal garden ] It also has its state of art drug - manufacturing unit where the students get hands - on training in drug manufacturing. The faculty of the College consists of carefully selected senior teachers with strong research orientation. It is therefore not surprising that the College attracts students from all the parts of India. The college has following 14 departs with all necessary facilities as per central counsil norms.
