Profile
Well known for its academic excellence and infrastructural facilities, this Medical College was established in 1989. It was permanently affiliated to the University of Pune till it became a constituent unit of this University in 1996. The College and the degrees offered are recognised by the Medical Council of India. The General Medical Council of Great Britain has also given its recognition to this college. The College is listed in the World Health Organization’s directory of recognized medical educational institutions. The students of this College are considered eligible to appear for USMLE and PLAB examinations. There are 20 Departments in the college. The college offers One Undergraduate programme, 15 Post Graduate programmes a 8 Diploma programmes & 7 other PG Cources. The College has beautiful infrastructure, which is an excellent expression of modern architecture. The laboratories and various clinical units in the College are well equipped and are regularly updated. The total built up area of the college is 2,55,000 sq.ft and that of the Hospital is 3,35,500 sq.ft. The classrooms are 2000 sq.ft. big. The College Library is of 11,105 sq.ft. and has almost 13,272 books. It also subscribes more than 140 national and international journals. It owns an exclusive digital library with 40 outlets & provide access to 940 online journals. The faculty members are efficient, experienced and student caring. Many of its alumni were admitted to the postgraduate programmes in reputed medical schools in India as well as abroad. Many of them have earned a good reputation in the areas of their professional specializations. The College has hosted many National and International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and it provides excellent educational ethos for overall development of the students.
