Profile
Architecture college was started in August 1994. It runs a 5-year degree programme in Architecture (B. Arch.). The college also runs two post graduate programmes in architecture along with a diploma course in Interior Design. It was included among the constituent units of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University in March 2005. The College and its degree programme have the approvals of the Council of Architecture of India and the AICTE. The College has its own independent building with ample space for classrooms, studios etc. It has a small assembly hall also. There is a Centre for Energy Conservation established as a wing of this College. The Centre is recognized by Maharashtra Energy Development Agency, which is a statutory authority of the Government of Maharashtra. The College has identified energy conservation by Climate Responsive Architecture as its area of specialization. The College has organized a national level quality improvement programme on this theme in December 2000. It has also undertaken work of collecting climatic data and has developed climate responsive work models. The College has collaborative interaction with Indian Institute of Architect Pune Centre, Indian Institute Topical Meteorology, Pune and others. The teams of this College actively participate in the events organized by NASA. It has won the “Tata Steel Trophy” and a cash prize at NASA in 1997.
