Profile
BVU College of Engineering was established in 1983. It is one of the oldest and largest Engineering Colleges in the State of Maharashtra and it celebrated its silver jubilee year in 2008-09. Over the last 26 years, the College has made all-round progress and is now acclaimed as one of the best Engineering Colleges in this part of the country.
Since its inception till July 2000 when it became a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, the College was affiliated on a permanent basis to University of Pune. The courses which are taught in our College of Engineering are as given below. All the degree programmes involve applications of computers in their respective areas.
The admissions to the courses are given through an Entrance Test conducted by the Bharati Vidyapeeth University.
The College has its own spacious, well-designed building located in beautiful Dhankawadi campus. Area wise the college building is 252402 Sq.feet. It has sufficient space to accommodate lecture halls, laboratories, seminar halls, Library etc. The classrooms measure 660 Sq.feet each.Over the years, the College has created excellent infrastructural facilities in terms of well equipped laboratories and workshops. Our laboratories are housed in spacious halls and they have the latest state-of-the-art equipment. We would like to make a special mention of our computer laboratories that are exceptionally good and well equipped with the latest machines and various types of softwares and application development tools. Library of the College is located in a spacious building, contain separate Stacking room, Computer Centre, Periodical Section, Audio Visual Room, Reference Section and three Reading Halls. The library has an area of 23920 Sq.feet. Reading Halls are open for sixteen hours a day.
The College has also membership of internationally reputed organizations such as British Council Library, Automotive Research Association of India, National Chemical Laboratory, Indian Institute of Technology, Powai, Institute of Armament Technology, Grinagar etc. The Library subscribes to 91 international journals and 66 national journals. More than 27700 books are on the stacks at present.
Computer Center is established in the Library with 135 computers of latest configuration. The leased line of six MBPS is also made available to the students. The center is used by the students for 14 hours per day under the guidance of specially appointed computer system administrators.
he College has been ranked as ‘A’ grade Engineering College by the Government of Maharashtra. The BVU College of Engineering is one of the prestigious institutions in Pune which attracts leading and prestigious companies for campus interviews as its Training and Placement Cell has continuous interaction with the industries. Renowned industries which have visited the College for campus interviews and recruitment of our students include PCS, Infosys, IBM, Oracle, AT & T, Tata Infotech, Zensar, DSL, LTITL, Wipro, Kambay, Tata Technologies, Selectica, TCS, TELCO, Mahindra British Telecom, IPCL, L&T, Hindustan Lever Ltd., Satyam Computers, etc.

1. All the programmes of this institute have been accredited for three years by NBA.
2. This institute is also accredited by NAAC.
3. DATA QUEST, a leading magazine of India has published the results of joint survey conducted by DATAQUEST-IDC of the India’s Technical Schools. In this survey Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering has been ranked in Indias’s top 50 Technical schools.
  In the year 2008-09 it was ranked to 29th position (and 2nd in Western Region) amongst the colleges examined across the country.

  In the year 2007-08, Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering has been ranked 45th amongst the colleges examined across the country.
  In the year 2006-07, Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering has been ranked 43rd amongst the colleges examined across the country.
  In the year 2005-06, Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering has been ranked 42nd amongst the colleges examined across the country.
  This ranking is on the basis of placement, Infrastructure, Academic Environment, Industry interface and Human Resource response.
4. Institution of Engineers (India), has approved BVUCOE as the centre for conducting practicals and workshops of the students appearing for the AMIE examination. This year 32 students from all over India have completed their practicals and workshops in different departments. Till date such 127 students have completed their practicals in this institute.
Research Activities :
The grants are received from various funding agencies for various research projects. In last 5 years 20 research projects are undertaken by the institute . The total amount received for such activities is Rs. 82,22,200/-.

To keep the pace with changing scenario of globalization college has entered into memorandum of understanding with various universities and industries.
