Programme Overview

Bachelor in Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc.) is a three years undergraduate programme where the students get to learn about the library management and administration. On completion of the course, students can apply for jobs in both private as well as government schools and colleges.

Programme Outcomes

Understand different concepts of library – Students who have completed B.Lib.I.Sc, they will be in a good position to understand the types, purpose and distinct functions and services that are required at a library.
Draft legislation of the library- Students will be well versed to formulate library legislation for a state. Moreover, they will also be able to know the role of professional associations and the standard professional ethics.
Build Classification Numbers - Post the completion of the course, students will be able to get a better understanding of classification numbers. They will also be able to develop the skill e of classifying documents having simple, compound and complex subjects.
