Being acknowledged as one of the best services in the world, as a field, nursing is always in demand. There is always a requirement of trained human resources to address the needs of this specialised service segment. Nurses and hospital support staff are in great demand, not only in India, but also abroad. In the past, the nurse was just a person trained to perform specific job. Later on, nursing was recognized as a specialized demanded quality care. Presently nurse is also influenced by consumer’s awareness, patients rights’, rising health care costs, health promotion and evidence based practice. Really, nursing is a growing with current trends and technology. A nurse plays a major role in current healthcare system in the world. Hence, competent nurses are required to tackle new challenges in taking a good care of patients. Taking into consideration the need of the future medical care system, various surveys have projected excellent career opportunities in the field of nursing. Established in 1996, BVU, College of Nursing, Pune, has been regarded as one of the premier institute in Nursing Education. Academically controlled by BVU, the college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council and State council. The college is built up on an area of 20,500 sq.metres . It is well equipped with a huge library with 9580 books and 12 journals There are departments such as O.B/G.Y.N Nursing, Fundamental of Nursing, Community Health Nursing etc. functional in the College. The programme GNM, B.Sc Nursing, GM.Sc Nursing is available in the college.
