Programme Overview

MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics is a three-year programme in which the students get to learn about the diagnosis, correction of malocclusion and prevention. Also, they are taught about the abnormalities that are available in the developing or mature oro-facial structures.

Programme Outcomes

Knowledge acquired - Students will learn about the dynamic interaction of biologic processes and mechanical forces that are acting on the stomatognathic system while the orthodontic treatment is in progress.
Skills - Gain competency to fabricate and manage the most appropriate appliance – intra or extra oral, mechanical or functional, active or passive or removable or fixed for the treatment of any orthodontic problem.
Attitude and Communication Skills - Develop effective communication skills to tell patients the options that are available to them for managing a particular dento-facial problem.
