Overview

Established on May 10, 1990, The Homoeopathic Medical College is a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University. Earlier, the college had been affiliated to University of Pune on a permanent basis.

As one of the renowned colleges in the country, Bharati Vidyapeeth Homoeopathic Medical College has been accredited with ‘A+’ Grade (2017) by NAAC, ‘A’ Grade University Status by MHRD, Govt. of India.

Earlier, it had been accredited (2004) & reaccredited (2011) with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC.

Location and Infrastructure

The Homoeopathic Medical College is located in Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dhankawadi campus, where the students can access all of the infrastructural facilities as specified by the norms of the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi. The well-designed building accommodates laboratories, dissection halls, spacious demonstration halls and a library with a reading hall facility. The college maintains an herbal garden having more than 400 medicinal plants some of which are of rare species.

Academic Programmes

The courses offered by the Homoeopathic Medical College have permanent recognition from the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi and the degrees awarded by the University are included in the Second Schedule of Central Council of Homoeopathy. (HCC Act 1973.). Currently, there is an intake capacity of 100 for the undergraduate degree and 30 for the postgraduate degree for five specialty subjects.

Faculty

Experienced and enthusiastic faculty consisting of senior teachers who are experts in their respective subjects guide the students of the Homoeopathic Medical College. The faculty is also student-oriented in their teaching methods.

Homoeopathic Hospital

Along with the academic unit, the college also runs an exclusive Homoeopathic hospital with 100 beds. Students are able to obtain good clinical exposure through the college’s OPD and IPD, which attract a large number of patients.

Collaborations

The college has MOUs with CCRH, Delhi and BVDU HMC, Pune for “Linking Research with Education.” It also has another MOU with Willmar Schwabe, India and BVDU HMC, Pune for “Industrial Training Programme of One Week” for PG students.

Academic Activities

The College not only provides better teaching and clinical facilities to the students, but also organizes various kinds of academic activities including the state and national level seminars and workshops to enrich academic experience of our students.

Research Projects

The college has accredited for Research & Development Centre by Dept. of AYUSH (1SH & M) Ministry of Health & Family Welfare New - Delhi. As a part of Research activity under R & D center. And has undertaken many research projects for which Govt. of India has sanctioned grants worth Rs. 42,02,500/- and released amount of Rs.25,92,000/- for, in collaboration with IRSHA, BVDU. Other three projects under STSH (Short Term Students Scholarship in Homoeopathy) got sanctioned grant, each of Rs. 10,000/- for the students of Third year BHMS by CCRH, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Social Initiatives

Urban & Rural camps are organized & conducted regularly at Yawat & Bhor every month since 1997. One monthly and one quarterly Urban & Rural camp regularly arranged & followed by running weekly Rural OPDS through mobile clinics at 8 directions and about 35 to 50 Km distance around the Pune city. The students and Interns benefit from the camps & OPD's by gaining clinical knowledge. Society is benefiting from these Camps & OPD's as medicines available at a very concessional rate
