Overview

Known for its rich cultural heritage, India has over a thousand years of development in the different forms of Arts and Culture. As one of the popular branches of the various art forms, Performing Arts mainly consists of Music, Dance and Drama.

Currently, there are thousands of students who wish to dive deeper, and learn the different forms of art and culture.

In 2008, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) School of Performing Arts was established to cater to the needs of this section of students. Additionally, the institute also aims to provide learning and education in the performing arts and to produce professional artists in their respective fields. The institute offers B.A. Music / B.A. Dance and M.A. Music / M.A. Dance, Ph.D. in Music / Dance courses and Certificate – Diploma Courses in Music / Dance. These Certificate – Diploma courses have been approved by the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Maharashtra. In 2016-17, one innovative course, Diploma in Kirtan (Naradiya and Varakari Style) was started which has received excellent response.

Graduate students will have a lot of scopes in films, theatre and television, as well as for live concerts/performances. The courses offered by the School of Performing Arts have received tremendous response in India, America, Australia, U.A.E., Germany and Canada.
