Overview

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Nursing, Sangli plays a key role in research and development. The institute conducts research in priority areas of nursing education and practice. The undergraduate and postgraduate students conduct research in various areas of nursing. The faculty of the institution is also involved in core research areas of nursing. The institution ethical committee is registered with central drugs standard control organization, New Delhi.

Ph.D. Scholar - Mr. Basavant Dhudum

A study to evaluate the effectiveness of intra-dialytic stretching exercises on leg muscle cramps among patients undergoing hemo-dialysis at selected centers of Sangli and Kolhapur districts.

Ph.D. Scholar - Mr. Narayan Ghorpade

A study to evaluate the effectiveness Emotional Focused therapy (EFT) on level of self-esteem among adolescence residing at selected Orphanage Homes of Western Maharashtra.

The departmental projects carried out by the faculty are:

  • An empirical phenomenological study to explore the lived experience and resilience of the health care professionals worked in selected COVID centres of Sangli District.
  • A Study to assess the quality of life among the women with Breast Cancer in selected hospitals of Sangli District.
  • A study to assess the risk of falling among older adults in long term care using the Morse fall scale.
  • A study to assess the problems related to virtual classroom among nursing teachers and students at selected nursing institutes of Sangli Miraj Kupwad Corporation with a view to develop guidelines for virtual classroom.
  • A qualitative study to assess the challenges faced by mothers caring special children during COVID pandemic at selected special schools of Sangli District
  • A Study to assess the anxiety faced by staff nurses towards duel role as nurse and mother during COVID 19 pandemic period from selected COVID centers of SMK corporation area.
  • A Study to assess the negative emotions towards patients, support at workplace and job satisfaction among the nurses working in psychiatric units of selected hospitals.
  • A study to assess Promoters and Barriers for adherence to community health clinical practices guidelines among staff nurses working at PHC in selected districts of Western Maharashtra.
