In the past five years more than 171 dental camps have been organized and patients from these camps are referred to the dental hospital. It is here that some patients were treated free of cost or at a subsidized rate. The staff and students of all units of Bharati Vidyapeeth are given treatment with fee concessions and the Department also runs 2 satellite centres to meet the dental health of the rural population.
Both the centers at Lavale and Panshet are fully equipped with the latest dental equipment and dental care is provided free of cost. Dedicated staff and interns are posted and postgraduate students from the Department of Oral Surgery, Endodontics & Pedodontics are deployed for specialty treatment. The department has also adopted villages like Ambegaon khurd, Ambegaon budruk and Bhugaon with the consent of their gram panchayats for free dental treatment. While treating the patients, the diagnosis and treatment planning is done by taking the opinions of different department specialists. This helps in following the right path of treatment.
