It was initially affiliated to the University of Pune till it became a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) in April 1996 an unique multidisciplinary university with ‘A+’ Grade accreditation by NAAC and Category - 1 (Deemed to be University) Grade by UGC.
The Homoeopathic Medical College is located at Dhankawadi Educational Campus in a well-designed building. The College building accommodates well-equipped lecture halls with modern Audio Visual aids, LCD projectors, laboratories, dissection halls, spacious demonstration halls and a library with a reading hall facility. Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Dept. of AYUSH, New Delhi has accorded permission to our college to start P.G. Courses in Homoeopathy [M.D.(HOM)] from the academic year 2006-2007 in five selected specialties with six (06) regular admissions in each speciality. [Approved by F.no.R.14014/05/2005EP, Dated 07 August, 2006 by Dept. of AYUSH, M/o H. & FW. Govt. of India, New Delhi - 110001, on the recommendation of CCH, New Delhi - 58 for regular basis.]
Accordingly, institute runs Post-graduate programs in 5 speciality subjects as in 1. Homoeopathic Materia Medica 2. Repertory 3. Homoeopathic Pharmacy 4.Practice of Medicine 5. Homoeopathic Philosophy and Doctoral programs in 3 speciality subjects as in 1. Homoeopathic Materia Medica 2. Repertory 3. Homoeopathic Pharmacy with the objective to produce excellent professional thinkers, practitioners, researchers and teachers in Homoeopathy. The above mention programs are included in Second Schedule of Homoeopathy Central Council Act. 1973 as per the Notification in Gazette of India Dated 7 December 2012.
In the present rapidly changing medical education scenario and health care delivery systems, along with the growth and development in information and communication technology, medical education has become more dynamic than ever before. In this dynamic environment our endeavour is to make our students competent, confident, self reliant ready for change. Our focus is on student centered education by imparting best knowledge to our students. The focus is on higher levels of learning, comprehension, analysis and application of homoeopathic knowledge. Our emphasis is on developing the right kind of attitude and humane approach in treating the sick and needy. Special efforts are taken to see if the students have learnt the necessary skills to become competent Homoeopathic Physicians.
To achieve this we have excellent, experienced and dedicated faculty who are all trained in advanced level teaching technologies. We have exclusive Homoeopathic Hospital with 100 bed strength. Our OPD and IPD attract large number of patients and students get good clinical exposure. The hospital serves to care for the patients. We provide OPD services to the rural society by means of Homoeopathic Mobile Clinic at Saswad. Our excellence in teaching and research made us unique.
Research is an integral part of our training. The Institute has MOUs with (1) CCRH (Central Council for Research in Homeopathy), New Delhi and BVDU HMC, Pune for “Linking Research with Education.” (2) Willmar Schwabe, India and B.V.D.U., H.M.C., Pune for “Industrial Training Program” for PG Scholars. (3) Medisynth, Mumbai and B.V.D.U., H.M.C., Pune for “Industrial Training Program” for PG Scholars.
The Institute not only provides better teaching and clinical facilities to the students, but also organizes various kinds of academic activities including the State and National level seminars and webinars to enrich academic experience of our students. We promote students to attend various National & International level seminars. The students are always encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities to showcase their talents. We strive to impart knowledge of Homoeopathy to our students with a scientific approach.
