BVIEER proudly hosted the launch of Dr. Chong Shimray's book, “Understanding Environmental Education: From Theory to Practices in India” on August 2, 2024 at BVIEER Auditorium. Dr Chong is a faculty member at the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi and has a long experience working in environment education. The book is poised to become an essential resource for educators, policymakers, and environmental advocates striving to integrate sustainable practices into education systems across the country as it bridges the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical implementation.
The event was graced by the presence of Padma Bhushan Dr Madhav Gadgil, an eminent ecologist and academician along with Prof. Dr Erach Bharucha, Director , BVIEER and Prof Dr Shamita Kumar, Principal , BVIEER.
