Cultural Activities

Upholding one’s culture and tradition is essential. Hence, on a regular basis, cultural events are organized where the students get to showcase their talent. The objective of the cultural activities is to ensure the overall development of the students and help them to get a break from the monotony of studies as well. Such cultural activities rejuvenate the students along with the faculty members.

Cultural Week 2020

The Cultural Week 2020 commenced on Saturday, 25th Jan 2020. The day started off with a Rangoli competition which filled the campus with colors. This was followed by an official inauguration which saw The Principal, Dr Khsirsagar light a lamp and declare the cultural week open by cutting the inaugural ribbon. This was followed by a fete where all the UGs and PGs actively participated.

The cultural week extended from the 25th Jan to 31st Jan with the concluding final day event on 1st Feb 2020. A variety of cultural competitions were carried out throughout the week which was blessed by maximum participation from all the undergraduate students, postgraduate students as well as the teaching and non teaching faculty members.

Rangoli, Makeover plus nail art, T shirt painting, Box office, Pic a tale Taboo, Pictionary, Debate, Quiz, Cupcake decoration, Masterchef, Kitchen orchestra, Minute to win it, Foodathon, Mad ads, Filmingyaan, Antakshari, Ludo, Clay, Ultimate Ninja, Fifa were few of the competitions which were held throughout the week.

1st Feb 2020, Saturday was the final day of the culturals which witnessed a grand event which stretched from 11am to 6pm. The whole college campus was revamped and turned into a vibrant set up. All the classes actively participated with their dances, style acts and singing performances. The staff members put up an exotic fashion show which captivated the masses. All the trophies were well fought for and handed over by staff members from all the departments.

The entire cultural week was a success and was a good change for the students as well as the staff members from the academic routine.

Annual Youth Festival auditions 2019

Undergraduate Students of BVDU Dental College, took part in various competitions in the Annual Youth Festival audition being organized by BVDU New Law College Pune (Kothrud) on the 10th and 11th of October 2019.

26 students taking part in the Annual Youth Festival audition and were accompanied by Dr. Sarita Singh and Dr. Mrunal Shinde.

Rachana Mane from 3rd year took part in classical light vocal singing, while Kanchan Joil of 1st year gave a spectacular performance in classical Solo Dancing. We also took part in Group Dancing, 10 participants from different years taking part in the same. There was also a group of 6 (all from first year) who gave a wonderful performance in Western Group Singing. In addition to these activities, 8 students also presented a skit based on depression and fear of medical entrance exams. The participating students were very enthusiastic and determined.

Fresher’s Day 2019

Fresher’s Day was organized by Interns to welcome first year BDS students on Friday, September 20, 2019. The venue was Auditorium 2 at Medical College. The programme began with lamp lighting by respected Principal Dr.Rajesh Kshirsagar.

The newly admitted First BDS students participated enthusiastically in the event, showcasing their talent.

Students and Interns performed wholeheartedly. The event was organized flawlessly under supervision of cultural Committee; Dept.of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.

The cultural Committee appreciates the enthusiasm and efforts of interns, they really put up a good show. We thank our beloved Principal Dr.Rajesh Kshirsagar for his constant support and guidance and encouragement, which motivates us to do our best.

Celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi

On 3rd September, Tuesday, BVDU Pune conducted ganesh aarti for the bharati parivar ganpati along with the interns batch of 2018-19. The aarti was conducted in the university campus. The Aarti commenced at 9am and was concluded by 10am.

Dr. Rajesh Kshirsagar, The Principal of BVDU Pune carried out with the Aarti. He was accompanied by The Vice Principal, Dr. V. V. Kulkarni along with the staff cultural committee accompanied. All the teaching and non teaching faculty along with the students turned up in heavy numbers to spectate. The aarti was followed by a scintillating dance performance by the students of BVDU Pune.

The event was well appreciated by all present and was an apt gesture to headstart Ganpati.
