Department of Computer Science

Overview

The department of Computer Science was established in the year 1997 with the aim to impart quality education in the field of Computer Science. Initially the department started with UG programme, and in the year 2008 started M.Sc.(Computer Science) to develop core competence in Computer Science so as to prepare students to carry out development work and also take up challenges in the field of research . Presently both B.Sc.(Computer Science) and M.Sc.(Computer Science) are in accordance with the NEP 2020 guidelines. Also the department is a recognized centre for Ph.D in Computer Science to produce quality research and also to promote inter disciplinary research. The department has modern facilities for teaching, learning and research. The last semester for M.Sc(Computer Science) students has a  provision of internship wherein the students are exposed to  rigorous training in the  IT companies and other reputed organizations. In order to maintain the quality and standard of education, the department constantly upgrades the academic syllabi so as to keep the students well trained to deal with changing trends in the Computing and Information Technology fields.
The guidance and cooperation of the experienced and expert faculty members of the department is one of the distinguishing feature of the department, which enlivens the students to stretch their wings, so that they chase their dreams and serve the country.

With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the department has produced quality professionals holding important positions in the IT industry in India and abroad. As a consequence of their arduous training and exposure to professional ethics preaching the students of the department get placed in the leading IT industries.
