Annual India Supply Chain Conference

A brief background about ASCP and about its Annual India Supply Chain Conference below :

The Association of Supply Chain Professionals (ASCP) is India’s first home grown association for supply chain and logistics professionals and registered under India’s Societies Registration Act, 1860. The association promotes supply chain and logistics professionals to build up desired levels of expertise and skills in the supply chain system, besides taking up leading policy initiatives and provide a platform for the systematic and sound growth of the profession in India.

ASCP’s signature Annual ‘India Supply Chain 2022 Conference’ was held on 18 & 19 November at the Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai. This one of its kind premier conference (oldest international supply chain conference in India) was attended by national and international delegates with opportunities to network and discuss the management issues and improvement needed in various supply chains. This was the 16th edition.

The Theme of the Conference this year was 'Supply Chain to Responsible Chains'. Topics ranging from Supplier Sustainability Reporting and Scorecards, Sustainability Assessment, Global Supply Networks, CSR, Environmental and Social Certifications, Resilience and Sustainable Logistics Operations, Technology adaptation such as AI, Robotics and Block Chain, Fraud in Supply Chain were discussed.

The event brought together supply chain leaders, policy makers, business leaders, academicians, journalists, international development and financial institutions, regional and international business associations from India and other countries like Japan, UK, Dubai,. There were about 120 delegates for this event. The first half of the conference (on 18th Nov.) was the Academic Conclave, followed by the Main Business Conference held on 19th Nov. Which concluded with Annual Networking Dinner.

The Academic Conclave focused on the educational aspect of supply chain. Top academicians from UK, Japan, UAE, USA and various part of India participated in this conference. It was a good opportunity for our students to participate in the conference. They got an understanding of what is happening in the world of supply chain and industry and also got a chance to interact and network with professionals.

Some of the key speakers at the Conference were Swami Sarvalokananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Dr. Edward Sweeney, Edinburgh, Scotland, Dr. Sanjeev Joshi, Deputy CEO, Brahmos Aerospace, DRDO, Dr. VM Motghare, Deputy Director, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, Mr. Derek M Shah, Senior VP & Head-Green Manufacturing & Dev, L&T Ltd., Prof. Manoj K. Tiwari, Director, NITIE, Mumbai.
