Dr. Premasish Roy
Ph.D. (Management), PGDM, PGDMC, MA (English)
Dr. Premasish Roy is an academician with extensive 24 year of experience in teaching, research,
consulting, and academic administration, primarily in the field of management. He currently holds
the position of Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, and Director & Professor, Department of
Management Studies, Navi Mumbai Campus, at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University),
Pune.
Education and Academic Journey: Dr. Roy's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in
Management; PGDM (HR/OB specialization); PGDMC (Mass Communication) and an M.A. in
English, B.A. (English Hons.). He is alumnus of Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
Prior to his current role at Bharati Vidyapeeth, Dr. Roy served as Assistant Dean at EMPI Business
School, New Delhi, and as Associate Professor & Deputy Dean at the School of Management
Studies, Sangam University, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. His career spans over twenty-four years of fulltime teaching experience in ten universities of repute including ICFAI Foundation, ISB&M and
many more in pan India location.
Areas of Expertise and Teaching Forte: Dr. Roy's teaching and research interests are primarily
focused on: Organizational Behaviour, Strategic Business Management, Leadership
Development, Research Methodology and other allied courses.
Research and Publications: An active researcher, Dr. Roy has presented over 35 research papers
at various international and national conferences. He has also published around 33 articles in
reputable journals, including peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed, Web of Science and UGC careindexed publications, and has authored over 12 chapters in different edited books. He has guided
two Ph.D. scholars to successful completion and is currently supervising four doctoral research
scholars. Additionally, he has guided 98 master's thesis dissertations. He has been the Thesis
Supervisor of MBA programme of Liverpool Business School (UK).
Role in Accreditation: He was one of the leads on behalf of Faculty of Management Studies,
Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune for accomplishing NAAC A++ Grade with
59th NIRF Ranking.
Contributions to Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Dr. Roy is recognized as an "Innovation
Evangelist." He has organized 20 entrepreneurship boot camps and a 25-day Women
Entrepreneurship Development Programme, both supported by the Department of Science &
Technology (DST), Government of India. He was also a key architect in organizing India's first
Mobility Mission Festival in New Delhi, supported by AIC – NITI Aayog. He is a mentor to a
startup at one of the Atal Incubation Centres (supported by NITI Aayog, Government of India)
and played a crucial role in establishing an incubation center at a prominent Business School in
New Delhi under the Atal Innovation Mission scheme. He has organized many Hackathons leading
to business ideas.
MDP/FDP/EDP: He has imparted training programs to corporate executives and professionals
from esteemed organizations like Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of India (ICAI). He is an empaneled Subject Matter Expert at KPMG in India. He
delivered many FDP sessions including Bharati Vidyapeeth, Assam Skill University, Podar
International School.
Professional Affiliations: Dr. Roy is a member of several professional bodies, including the
Association of Supply Chain Professionals, Mumbai Chapter, Indian Accounting Association,
West Bengal Chapter, and the National Institute of Personnel Management, Kolkata.
