Introduction-Department Of Pathology-

  • Establishment in 1992, Feb.
  • Pathology subject is taught to 2 nd year BHMS students.
  • Pathology Department is fully equipped as per norms of CCH.
  • Well-equipped pathology lab in hospital.
  • Pathology Lab in college 750 Sq.ft. Department staff room 150 Sq.ft. Pathology Lab in Hospital 300 Sq.ft.

A)Theory paper - 2 paper

Paper 1- 100 marks.-
General pathology-50marks
and systemic pathology-50 marks
Paper 2- 100 marks.-
Bacteriology Virology Parasitology And Immunology.

Paper1+ Paper 2=Total-200 marks.

B) Practical Examination-

External and internal examiner viva voice- 25 + 25 - 50 marks

6 spotting 5 marks each- 30 marks

Gram staining/Z-n staining- 20 marks. Total-100 marks.

Teaching plan: Teaching plan is prepared, published at the beginning of academic year and executed accordingly. The topics are distributed to teaching faculty and taken accordingly hours prescribed by CCH. Lectures-200 hours, Practicals-80 hours/per student. Remedial coaching is done after exams. Tutorials are allotted every month. Seminar/ assignments sessions are kept and worked out.

Vision

  • OUR vision is to make pathology easier to study and understand on behalf of students.
  • The concept of miasmas and pathological cause of disease must be taught.

Mission

  • Differentiation must be made in relation to exciting causes, maintaining causes and infective causes of disease while studying pathology under the headings of bacteriology, virology, immunology, fungi etc.

OBJECTIVE

  • Pathology and microbiology must be studied in relation to applied aspect of materia medica.
  • The scope and limitations in a particular case of disease must be studied.
