The International Students’ Institute is also in charge of developing and implementing the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s Internationalization policy. On arrival in India

Arriving in a new country and culture can be daunting. Preparation and organisation can make this difficult transition into a positive experience. Almost everyone who studies, lives or works abroad experiences some degree of differences. It is quite natural to feel overwhelmed, excited and confused all at once. For some people the "shock" hits them the moment they arrive at the airport, while for others it could be 6 months down the track.

Some surprises always await you when you arrive in a new place. You may not be able to find your favourite food or understand the local language. Housing arrangements, the way in which classes are conducted, the informal manner in which people greet one another, all may seem very strange and confusing. This is all part of the adjustment process. Reaching Pune

The city of Pune is located in the hills of Sahyadri Mountains at about 170 k.m. on the Deccan Plateau, South of Mumbai.

If one reaches Mumbai, Pune is not far off and not very difficult to reach. Most of the International flights arrive at Sahar International Airport in Mumbai. There are several trains between Mumbai and Pune. They leave from Dadar terminus-a suburb of Mumbai. One can reach Pune by air also. There are several flights from Mumbai to Pune which start from the Domestic Airport at Mumbai.

Addedly, there are several private buses and taxies which ply between Pune and Mumbai rendering services to the passengers day and night.

You may also arrange for someone to pick you up from the airport. Some hotels arrange for an airport pickup. It is a good idea to purchase a city map right away, so that you don't loose your sense of direction in a new city. Maps are available at every bookshop at the airport.

Admissions

When International students arrive in India, they should contact the Director of the International Students' Office immediately.

The International Students' Office will guide and help them in completing the admission formalities. Students must produce all the necessary documents including passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), original academic transcripts, diplomas, degrees etc., a copy of all the pages of the passport and two passport size photographs. At the time of admission, the student will have to pay tuition and other fees, so he/she will have to bring with him adequate money for the payment of this fee. The student should keep in mind that, it will not be possible for the University to give him/her admission if he/she fails to produce the required documents/ to make the payment of fees in full. He should take admission before the date which is mentioned in the letter issued to him. The University will not be responsible if the student fails to get admission because of his failure in seeking the admission before the prescribed date.

Financial Needs

When a student travels to India, he/she needs to bring enough money to cover his/her immediate needs on arrival in India, including transit expenses, customs charges, transportation fares, initial expenditure at his/her place of study and emergency expenses.

It would be prudent to bring cash in US Dollars which can be exchanged at the airport. International debit/credit cards are mostly functional and accepted in India. Traveller's Cheques are accepted only at certain places, while banks would readily exchange them.

One of the prerequisites of student residential permits in India is that the students must have a bank account. To open an account in India, International students will need to have their admission letter, residential permit and passport, and some banks may also need the student bona fide certificate as evidence or may require some more documents. Individual banks have different policies and charges for opening a bank account. It normally takes few working days to receive the cheque book and card so a student must bring some cash/travellers cheques to carry him/her through this time. He/she can also exchange his/her foreign currency at any bank or any foreign exchange office around the country.

It may be noted that the International students will not get any financial assistance from the University or the College nor he will be able to earn money through summer jobs, so the student is advised to ensure that he has enough funding to cover all the expenses during his stay in India.

Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.)

International students must register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) of the Commissioner of Police, Pune, within 7 days of their arrival. It is extremely important that the International students register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) within 7 days of their arrival. The Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) shall register International students and issue them a residential permit which is normally valid for a period of one year and should be renewed 15 days before its expiry date. The documents needed here would be:

  • A provisional eligibility letter.
  • Passport with an endorsed Student Visa.
  • Passport size photographs.

Accommodation

Accommodation is one of the other aspects that a student must follow up on his/her arrival. If a student opts to rent a flat, then each accommodation provider or agent is a little different in his/her requirements. Rents and deposits also are different depending on various factors like locality, kind of housing and services etc. Some International students may choose to stay as a pay-n-guest which is advertised in local newspapers. And of course we have hostel facilities at our campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) which could be provided for if available only.

A certain number of seats in the hostel on both the campuses are reserved for International students. They will be allotted to them on first come first served basis. Those students who are not able to get accommodation in the hostel will have to try for private accommodation. Students living in hostels and even in private houses will have to adhere to the rules and regulations.

Medical check-up/No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Professional Courses

  • An International student will have to undergo a medical checkup at his/her own cost. He/she will be required to submit a report of this medical examination to the University. Also, an International student will have to undergo HIV Test at the Bharati Vidyapeeth's Medical College, Pune at his/her own cost and submit a report of the test to the University.
  • Final admission of professional courses is subject to producing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Government of India.

Note: The admission of International students will not be finalised unless he/she produces the above mentioned documents.

Pune has great historical tradition and an ideal geographical location. Almost two centuries ago it came on the political map as a place where strong nationalism started taking roots. Pune is located at an altitude of almost 2000 feet above sea level and partially hidden by the Sahyadri mountain ranges. The place has witnessed a spectacular movement and a tremendous growth and a rapid face-lift yet retaining its ancient and traditional character.

The city of Pune which is described as the "Queen of the Deccan" is a historical city. It came into political prominence as the capital city of the Marathas, a warrior community in Maharashtra during the reign of Shivaji the Great, about 375 years ago. Since then it has evolved itself as a socio-cultural capital of Maharashtra region. It is a cultural icon of Marathi speaking people. Pune became more prominent after the advent of British in this part of the country in the 18th century. It was a very active and volatile centre of revolutionary activities during the independence movement. Several social reform movements including those for liberation of women, removal of untouchability etc. originated in this city. Many renowned writers, saints, artists, made Pune their abode.

It is here, that great legends in the Indian history-legends of great warriors, of staunch patriots, of great social reformers and educationists, of artists, saints and sages, many excelling in spiritual teachings and cultural renaissance-unfolded themselves to making Pune, a synthesis between modern science and ancient wisdom. Note :- Medical Checkup and Insurance is compulsory for everyone. Fees for the same is US $100 (for first year) and to be paid at the time of confirm admission.

English Proficiency Test

There will be English Proficiency Test (EPT) of students. Fees for EPT is US $25 (Non-refundable). If anyone fails in EPT, then he/she will be suggested different English courses. Fee structure for that courses will be communicated from time to time.

  • Academic stream - US $ 3000/annum
  • Professional stream - US $ 4000/annum

Admission Cycle

Students can begin to apply from March through June of the academic year for the admission in the Academic Year that begins in June-July. For example June 2018 admission cycle will begin in March, 2018 and admissions will be open through June 2018. Students are requested to submit completed applications well within time frame so as to get the confirmation of admission in time. The courses start between June 15th through July 30th every year.

Note:

The international students; whose academic year completes by August-end or mid-September, can join English Language Program before taking admission to main course.

  • It is mandatory that the applicant has an adequate knowledge of English.
  • Please check the minimum entry requirements for the intended degree and submit your application only if those requirements are fulfilled. Courses and eligibility
  • Complete all relevant sections of the application form and please write ‘Not Applicable’ in front of the sections which do not apply to you. Please do not leave any blank columns.
  • Make sure you have all supporting documents ready for your application. Your application cannot be processed unless all sections of the application form are filled in and all supporting documents are provided to the University.

Provisional Eligibility Letter:

  • University authorities will issue the letter of Provisional Admission/ Eligibility letter subject to fulfilling all the criteria and availability of seat. This letter will enable him/ her to obtain students visa upon submission to Indian mission/consulate/embassy in his/her country.

Processing Fees
Modes of Payment :

  • The student/ friend /relative may pay in US $ in the University Bank Account of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, towards processing fee.
  • Bank / SWIFT transfer: Processing fee can be deposited into the account by wire transfer. Student must send scanned copy of transaction details with the name, course and year mention on top of the page, on the email id: [email protected] For account details Click here.

Step : 6

Final Admission

  • University authorities through their constituent units will issue final admission letter only on production of students’ visa subject to availability of seat at that point of time and on payment of tuition fees for that Academic year.
  • Kindly note that NRI/PIO/OCI students who already have multiple entry VISA to enter India also need to procure the provisional admission letter. It is mandatory regardless of the VISA status.

International Students must keep in mind:

  • It is mandatory for the students to come and report within the time frame i.e. between June 30th to July 30th or the date as mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter, whichever is earlier. (This is not applicable to Ph.D. admissions)
  • The student will be required to confirm to all the rules and conditions mentioned in the letter issued to him/her.

Students should make sure that annual fees are paid and all formalities are completed before date mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter or June 30th.

Timings of Payment of Eligibility Fees and Tuition Fees

Final Admission

  • At the time of form submission with documents – US $ 25 for UG /diploma/ PG/PG Diploma and US $ 45 for Ph.D. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provisional Admission Letter pay an eligibility fee of US $400/- for any Bachelors program and US $ 500/- for any Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provision Admission Letter pay a Medical Checkup fee for all Diploma, Certificate, Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.

Tuition Fees

  • Foreign students should pay their tuition fee after acquisition of Visa The student will be required to pay all the fees including tuition fees as prescribed by the University at the time of firm admission. COURSE FEE The Processing Fee, Provisional / Eligibility fees and Medical Checkup Fee paid to the College/University are non-refundable and valid only for that year. e. g. 2017-18. If a student could not obtain visa and join the course in 2017-18, he will have to make a fresh application for 2018-19.

Also note- Tuition fees are paid for every academic year (June-May) and are charged semester- wise. Backlog or year down students have to pay fees at the time of admission to next year.

If, at any stage, the student is found not eligible for admission, university has the right to cancel his/her admission.

Student Visa Requirement

International students who wish to study in India should obtain a Student Visa before travelling to India. Once he/she has been issued a provisional eligibility letter to study at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), he/she should immediately apply for his/her student visa. www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Checklist for the Firm Admission

Provisional admissions would be finalized only on production of

  • Original academic transcripts, degrees, certificates, etc

Code of Conduct & Discipline for International Student

Anti-Ragging Policy :

  • Ragging is a punishable offence. Honorable Supreme Court of India has held as follows, “If any incidents of ragging come to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution”.

In Campus :

  • At Bharati Vidyapeeth University, international students are expected to abide by all the rules of the University and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian Students doing the same course.
  • Any act within the campus that may violate or spoil the academic atmosphere in the University will not be appreciated and the student found guilty of such offence will be dismissed and sent back to their country without any cost to Bharati Vidyapeeth University.

    • Plagiarism, cheating on exams, other dishonesty

Out Side the Campus:

  • Any complaint or reporting of misbehavior, violence, anti-social, antinational, unethical and immoral activities involving International students will be dealt with in accordance with state and central laws that are in force.
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth University will not take any responsibility for any criminal or non-criminal acts done outside the campus, when the Students are in the rolls of the University.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous organisation of the Government of India, was established in 1950. The objectives of the Council, as defined in its Memorandum of Association, are:

  • To participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes relating to India’s external cultural relations

International Students Grievance Redressal Cell

International Students’ Office has Grievance Redressal Cell in the department where student can lodge their grievances. A Grievance Redressal Cell under the concern Faculties resolves the grievances. An Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) has been set up under Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) for dealing with the complaints filed under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act 2013). The procedure is based on the Principles of Natural Justice.

Women’s Cell:

The International Students’ Cell has formed a committee to redress the women related issues. Complaint Box is installed as per norms, nearby the Director, International Students’ Cell office, Principal’s Office. Complaints can be lodge in person or can be dropped in the Complaint Box located outside the Director’s Chamber. English Language Certificate Courses (ELCC)

Over the years we have realised that quite a few students coming from non-Engish speaking countries need to upgrade their skills in English language. They experience numerous difficulties in understanding the language and in communicating in it. Although these students are otherwise brilliant, they are likely to lag behind in their studies mainly because of their deficiency in English language. With a view to assisting students and to develop their English language skills, the University has launched a course of Advanced Learning of English language in the International Students' Office.

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) expects all students to be proficient in English. If your English proficiency does not meet the required standard, you may wish to study at the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Office before the commencement or during your degree or diploma course.

It is important for us to assess the students' level of English to see whether you will be able to cope with your chosen programme. Students whose English is not at a desired level, or who still need extra practice, will be asked to spend more time on their English and take up the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Certificate Course (ELCC) during their study or before taking their main programme.

Twinning Program (TP)

Twinning Programs involve partly study at Bharati Vidyapeeth University and remaining part at the Partner University. Through mutual transfer of credits, the results will be finalized and the candidates receive degrees from both the Universities. This Scheme provides the advantage of recognition of their degrees in both the countries either for placements or higher studies. Bharati Vidyapeeth University has acquired many such partnerships with foreign universities specially, in countries like Singapore, France, Australia, UK, Ireland and USA.

Semester Abroad Program (SAP)

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University students will get an opportunity to spend 4 to 6 months abroad during their final year study towards their project work or thesis. This will provide an opportunity for these students to develop contacts with those universities later for their higher studies. Further, the quality of these project works carried out there are of superior academic content of high practical value.

Internship Abroad Program

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University 3rd Year students will get an opportunity to spend 20 to 30 days in University West, Sweden. The student will participate in practical exercises using a state-of- the-art laboratory to ensure that you get the requisite hands-on experience.

Study Tour (ST)

Students of Bharati Vidyapeeth University have an option to visit partner universities abroad as a part of study tour and can attend the classes offered by foreign Professors for a period of 7-10 days. International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)

ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) is a voluntary program organized every year by Bharati Vidyapeeth University as a part of the curriculum for the student managers during the 3rd Semester (January-April). Reaching Pune

The city of Pune is located in the hills of Sahyadri Mountains at about 170 k.m. on the Deccan Plateau, South of Mumbai.

If one reaches Mumbai, Pune is not far off and not very difficult to reach. Most of the International flights arrive at Sahar International Airport in Mumbai. There are several trains between Mumbai and Pune. They leave from Dadar terminus-a suburb of Mumbai. One can reach Pune by air also. There are several flights from Mumbai to Pune which start from the Domestic Airport at Mumbai.

Addedly, there are several private buses and taxies which ply between Pune and Mumbai rendering services to the passengers day and night.

You may also arrange for someone to pick you up from the airport. Some hotels arrange for an airport pickup. It is a good idea to purchase a city map right away, so that you don't loose your sense of direction in a new city. Maps are available at every bookshop at the airport.

When International students arrive in India, they should contact the Director of the International Students' Office immediately.

The International Students' Office will guide and help them in completing the admission formalities. Students must produce all the necessary documents including passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), original academic transcripts, diplomas, degrees etc., a copy of all the pages of the passport and two passport size photographs. At the time of admission, the student will have to pay tuition and other fees, so he/she will have to bring with him adequate money for the payment of this fee. The student should keep in mind that, it will not be possible for the University to give him/her admission if he/she fails to produce the required documents/ to make the payment of fees in full. He should take admission before the date which is mentioned in the letter issued to him. The University will not be responsible if the student fails to get admission because of his failure in seeking the admission before the prescribed date.

At the time of admission, the student will have to pay tuition and other fees, so he/she will have to bring with him adequate money for the payment of this fee. The student should keep in mind that, it will not be possible for the University to give him/her admission if he/she fails to produce the required documents/ to make the payment of fees in full. He should take admission before the date which is mentioned in the letter issued to him. The University will not be responsible if the student fails to get admission because of his failure in seeking the admission before the prescribed date.

Financial Needs

When a student travels to India, he/she needs to bring enough money to cover his/her immediate needs on arrival in India, including transit expenses, customs charges, transportation fares, initial expenditure at his/her place of study and emergency expenses.

It would be prudent to bring cash in US Dollars which can be exchanged at the airport. International debit/credit cards are mostly functional and accepted in India. Traveller's Cheques are accepted only at certain places, while banks would readily exchange them.

One of the prerequisites of student residential permits in India is that the students must have a bank account. To open an account in India, International students will need to have their admission letter, residential permit and passport, and some banks may also need the student bona fide certificate as evidence or may require some more documents. Individual banks have different policies and charges for opening a bank account. It normally takes few working days to receive the cheque book and card so a student must bring some cash/travellers cheques to carry him/her through this time. He/she can also exchange his/her foreign currency at any bank or any foreign exchange office around the country.

It may be noted that the International students will not get any financial assistance from the University or the College nor he will be able to earn money through summer jobs, so the student is advised to ensure that he has enough funding to cover all the expenses during his stay in India.

Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.)

International students must register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) of the Commissioner of Police, Pune, within 7 days of their arrival. It is extremely important that the International students register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) within 7 days of their arrival. The Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) shall register International students and issue them a residential permit which is normally valid for a period of one year and should be renewed 15 days before its expiry date. The documents needed here would be:

  • A provisional eligibility letter.
  • Passport with an endorsed Student Visa.
  • Passport size photographs.

Accommodation

Accommodation is one of the other aspects that a student must follow up on his/her arrival. If a student opts to rent a flat, then each accommodation provider or agent is a little different in his/her requirements. Rents and deposits also are different depending on various factors like locality, kind of housing and services etc. Some International students may choose to stay as a pay-n-guest which is advertised in local newspapers. And of course we have hostel facilities at our campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) which could be provided for if available only.

A certain number of seats in the hostel on both the campuses are reserved for International students. They will be allotted to them on first come first served basis. Those students who are not able to get accommodation in the hostel will have to try for private accommodation. Students living in hostels and even in private houses will have to adhere to the rules and regulations.

Medical check-up/No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Professional Courses

  • An International student will have to undergo a medical checkup at his/her own cost. He/she will be required to submit a report of this medical examination to the University. Also, an International student will have to undergo HIV Test at the Bharati Vidyapeeth's Medical College, Pune at his/her own cost and submit a report of the test to the University.
  • Final admission of professional courses is subject to producing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Government of India.

Note: The admission of International students will not be finalised unless he/she produces the above mentioned documents.

There will be English Proficiency Test (EPT) of students. Fees for EPT is US $25 (Non-refundable). If anyone fails in EPT, then he/she will be suggested different English courses. Fee structure for that courses will be communicated from time to time.

Admission Cycle

Students can begin to apply from March through June of the academic year for the admission in the Academic Year that begins in June-July. For example June 2018 admission cycle will begin in March, 2018 and admissions will be open through June 2018. Students are requested to submit completed applications well within time frame so as to get the confirmation of admission in time. The courses start between June 15th through July 30th every year.

Note:

The international students; whose academic year completes by August-end or mid-September, can join English Language Program before taking admission to main course.

Along with the form the candidate should submit a brief note of about 500 words on 3 areas of her/his interest. Brief note should include the purpose of research and its importance on the selected topics.

After submission of application to International Students Office, it will be sent to Ph.D. section in the University. Thereafter Ph.D. section will communicate with the student.

Admission to Ph.D. programme will be finalized on the basis of interview by the committee appointed by the university authorities.

Provisional Eligibility Letter:

  • University authorities will issue the letter of Provisional Admission/ Eligibility letter subject to fulfilling all the criteria and availability of seat. This letter will enable him/ her to obtain students visa upon submission to Indian mission/consulate/embassy in his/her country.

Processing Fees
Modes of Payment :

  • The student/ friend /relative may pay in US $ in the University Bank Account of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, towards processing fee.
  • Bank / SWIFT transfer: Processing fee can be deposited into the account by wire transfer. Student must send scanned copy of transaction details with the name, course and year mention on top of the page, on the email id: [email protected] For account details Click here.

Step : 6

Final Admission

  • University authorities through their constituent units will issue final admission letter only on production of students’ visa subject to availability of seat at that point of time and on payment of tuition fees for that Academic year.
  • Kindly note that NRI/PIO/OCI students who already have multiple entry VISA to enter India also need to procure the provisional admission letter. It is mandatory regardless of the VISA status.

International Students must keep in mind:

  • It is mandatory for the students to come and report within the time frame i.e. between June 30th to July 30th or the date as mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter, whichever is earlier. (This is not applicable to Ph.D. admissions)
  • The student will be required to confirm to all the rules and conditions mentioned in the letter issued to him/her.

Students should make sure that annual fees are paid and all formalities are completed before date mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter or June 30th.

Timings of Payment of Eligibility Fees and Tuition Fees

Final Admission

  • At the time of form submission with documents – US $ 25 for UG /diploma/ PG/PG Diploma and US $ 45 for Ph.D. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provisional Admission Letter pay an eligibility fee of US $400/- for any Bachelors program and US $ 500/- for any Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provision Admission Letter pay a Medical Checkup fee for all Diploma, Certificate, Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.

Tuition Fees

  • Foreign students should pay their tuition fee after acquisition of Visa The student will be required to pay all the fees including tuition fees as prescribed by the University at the time of firm admission. COURSE FEE The Processing Fee, Provisional / Eligibility fees and Medical Checkup Fee paid to the College/University are non-refundable and valid only for that year. e. g. 2017-18. If a student could not obtain visa and join the course in 2017-18, he will have to make a fresh application for 2018-19.

Also note- Tuition fees are paid for every academic year (June-May) and are charged semester- wise. Backlog or year down students have to pay fees at the time of admission to next year.

Other Important Information for the International Students

If, at any stage, the student is found not eligible for admission, university has the right to cancel his/her admission.

Student Visa Requirement

International students who wish to study in India should obtain a Student Visa before travelling to India. Once he/she has been issued a provisional eligibility letter to study at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), he/she should immediately apply for his/her student visa. www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Checklist for the Firm Admission

Provisional admissions would be finalized only on production of

  • Original academic transcripts, degrees, certificates, etc
  • The student's passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Original eligibility letter.
  • Complete payment of all relevant fees. Submit copy of the receipts of complete payments made to the University
  • Medical check-up clearance which includes physicians general fitness certificate.Each International student (NRI/Foreigner/PIO/ OCI) who transfers the fees into the university account or takes out a DD is requested to send the scan and email transaction document to [email protected] and do not forget to mention the student’s name, course and year of course for which he /she is paying the fees; on funds transfer document. The student who pays in cash must scan and email the receipt to [email protected]. All International students must keep one set of all receipts of the paid fees to the University with them. Code of Conduct & Discipline for International Student

Anti-Ragging Policy :

  • Ragging is a punishable offence. Honorable Supreme Court of India has held as follows, “If any incidents of ragging come to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution”.

In Campus :

  • At Bharati Vidyapeeth University, international students are expected to abide by all the rules of the University and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian Students doing the same course.
  • Any act within the campus that may violate or spoil the academic atmosphere in the University will not be appreciated and the student found guilty of such offence will be dismissed and sent back to their country without any cost to Bharati Vidyapeeth University.

    • Damaging property
    • Plagiarism, cheating on exams, other dishonesty

Out Side the Campus:

  • Any complaint or reporting of misbehavior, violence, anti-social, antinational, unethical and immoral activities involving International students will be dealt with in accordance with state and central laws that are in force.
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth University will not take any responsibility for any criminal or non-criminal acts done outside the campus, when the Students are in the rolls of the University.

International Students Grievance Redressal Cell

International Students’ Office has Grievance Redressal Cell in the department where student can lodge their grievances. A Grievance Redressal Cell under the concern Faculties resolves the grievances. An Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) has been set up under Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) for dealing with the complaints filed under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act 2013). The procedure is based on the Principles of Natural Justice.

Women’s Cell:

The International Students’ Cell has formed a committee to redress the women related issues. Complaint Box is installed as per norms, nearby the Director, International Students’ Cell office, Principal’s Office. Complaints can be lodge in person or can be dropped in the Complaint Box located outside the Director’s Chamber. Any complaints of the students regarding ragging or sexual harassment or academic affairs can be lodged also through online portal for ‘Grievance Redressal’ in the form below.

English Language Certificate Courses (ELCC)

Over the years we have realised that quite a few students coming from non-Engish speaking countries need to upgrade their skills in English language. They experience numerous difficulties in understanding the language and in communicating in it. Although these students are otherwise brilliant, they are likely to lag behind in their studies mainly because of their deficiency in English language. With a view to assisting students and to develop their English language skills, the University has launched a course of Advanced Learning of English language in the International Students' Office.

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) expects all students to be proficient in English. If your English proficiency does not meet the required standard, you may wish to study at the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Office before the commencement or during your degree or diploma course.

It is important for us to assess the students' level of English to see whether you will be able to cope with your chosen programme. Students whose English is not at a desired level, or who still need extra practice, will be asked to spend more time on their English and take up the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Certificate Course (ELCC) during their study or before taking their main programme.

Twinning Program (TP)

Twinning Programs involve partly study at Bharati Vidyapeeth University and remaining part at the Partner University. Through mutual transfer of credits, the results will be finalized and the candidates receive degrees from both the Universities. This Scheme provides the advantage of recognition of their degrees in both the countries either for placements or higher studies. Bharati Vidyapeeth University has acquired many such partnerships with foreign universities specially, in countries like Singapore, France, Australia, UK, Ireland and USA.

Semester Abroad Program (SAP)

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University students will get an opportunity to spend 4 to 6 months abroad during their final year study towards their project work or thesis. This will provide an opportunity for these students to develop contacts with those universities later for their higher studies. Further, the quality of these project works carried out there are of superior academic content of high practical value.

Internship Abroad Program

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University 3rd Year students will get an opportunity to spend 20 to 30 days in University West, Sweden. The student will participate in practical exercises using a state-of- the-art laboratory to ensure that you get the requisite hands-on experience.

Study Tour (ST)

Students of Bharati Vidyapeeth University have an option to visit partner universities abroad as a part of study tour and can attend the classes offered by foreign Professors for a period of 7-10 days. In addition to academic exposure, they are exposed to International cultural issues by associating with the locals there.

International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)

ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) is a voluntary program organized every year by Bharati Vidyapeeth University as a part of the curriculum for the student managers during the 3rd Semester (January-April). In this students get a chance to be a part of their culture and show them a small part of ours. This program helps the student managers get an exposure of very diverse backgrounds and bring their learning back and share it with their fellow batch mates. On arrival in India

Housing arrangements, the way in which classes are conducted, the informal manner in which people greet one another, all may seem very strange and confusing. This is all part of the adjustment process. Reaching Pune

The city of Pune is located in the hills of Sahyadri Mountains at about 170 k.m. on the Deccan Plateau, South of Mumbai.

If one reaches Mumbai, Pune is not far off and not very difficult to reach. Most of the International flights arrive at Sahar International Airport in Mumbai. There are several trains between Mumbai and Pune. They leave from Dadar terminus-a suburb of Mumbai. One can reach Pune by air also. There are several flights from Mumbai to Pune which start from the Domestic Airport at Mumbai.

Addedly, there are several private buses and taxies which ply between Pune and Mumbai rendering services to the passengers day and night.

You may also arrange for someone to pick you up from the airport. Some hotels arrange for an airport pickup. It is a good idea to purchase a city map right away, so that you don't loose your sense of direction in a new city. Maps are available at every bookshop at the airport.

Admissions

When International students arrive in India, they should contact the Director of the International Students' Office immediately.

The International Students' Office will guide and help them in completing the admission formalities. Students must produce all the necessary documents including passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), original academic transcripts, diplomas, degrees etc., a copy of all the pages of the passport and two passport size photographs. At the time of admission, the student will have to pay tuition and other fees, so he/she will have to bring with him adequate money for the payment of this fee. The student should keep in mind that, it will not be possible for the University to give him/her admission if he/she fails to produce the required documents/ to make the payment of fees in full. He should take admission before the date which is mentioned in the letter issued to him. The University will not be responsible if the student fails to get admission because of his failure in seeking the admission before the prescribed date.

Financial Needs

When a student travels to India, he/she needs to bring enough money to cover his/her immediate needs on arrival in India, including transit expenses, customs charges, transportation fares, initial expenditure at his/her place of study and emergency expenses.

It would be prudent to bring cash in US Dollars which can be exchanged at the airport. International debit/credit cards are mostly functional and accepted in India. Traveller's Cheques are accepted only at certain places, while banks would readily exchange them.

One of the prerequisites of student residential permits in India is that the students must have a bank account. To open an account in India, International students will need to have their admission letter, residential permit and passport, and some banks may also need the student bona fide certificate as evidence or may require some more documents. Individual banks have different policies and charges for opening a bank account. It normally takes few working days to receive the cheque book and card so a student must bring some cash/travellers cheques to carry him/her through this time. He/she can also exchange his/her foreign currency at any bank or any foreign exchange office around the country.

It may be noted that the International students will not get any financial assistance from the University or the College nor he will be able to earn money through summer jobs, so the student is advised to ensure that he has enough funding to cover all the expenses during his stay in India.

Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.)

International students must register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) of the Commissioner of Police, Pune, within 7 days of their arrival. It is extremely important that the International students register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) within 7 days of their arrival. The Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) shall register International students and issue them a residential permit which is normally valid for a period of one year and should be renewed 15 days before its expiry date. The documents needed here would be:

  • A provisional eligibility letter.
  • Passport with an endorsed Student Visa.
  • Passport size photographs.

Accommodation

Accommodation is one of the other aspects that a student must follow up on his/her arrival. If a student opts to rent a flat, then each accommodation provider or agent is a little different in his/her requirements. Rents and deposits also are different depending on various factors like locality, kind of housing and services etc. Some International students may choose to stay as a pay-n-guest which is advertised in local newspapers. And of course we have hostel facilities at our campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) which could be provided for if available only.

A certain number of seats in the hostel on both the campuses are reserved for International students. They will be allotted to them on first come first served basis. Those students who are not able to get accommodation in the hostel will have to try for private accommodation. Students living in hostels and even in private houses will have to adhere to the rules and regulations.

Medical check-up/No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Professional Courses

  • An International student will have to undergo a medical checkup at his/her own cost. He/she will be required to submit a report of this medical examination to the University. Also, an International student will have to undergo HIV Test at the Bharati Vidyapeeth's Medical College, Pune at his/her own cost and submit a report of the test to the University.
  • Final admission of professional courses is subject to producing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Government of India.

Note: The admission of International students will not be finalised unless he/she produces the above mentioned documents.

Pune has great historical tradition and an ideal geographical location. Almost two centuries ago it came on the political map as a place where strong nationalism started taking roots. Note :- Medical Checkup and Insurance is compulsory for everyone. Fees for the same is US $100 (for first year) and to be paid at the time of confirm admission.

English Proficiency Test

There will be English Proficiency Test (EPT) of students. Fees for EPT is US $25 (Non-refundable). If anyone fails in EPT, then he/she will be suggested different English courses. Fee structure for that courses will be communicated from time to time.

Admission Cycle

Students can begin to apply from March through June of the academic year for the admission in the Academic Year that begins in June-July. For example June 2018 admission cycle will begin in March, 2018 and admissions will be open through June 2018. Students are requested to submit completed applications well within time frame so as to get the confirmation of admission in time. The courses start between June 15th through July 30th every year.

Note:

The international students; whose academic year completes by August-end or mid-September, can join English Language Program before taking admission to main course.

Ph.D. applicant has to purchase Ph.D. brochure along with form. For online purchase deposit US $ 45 in the account. Along with the form the candidate should submit a brief note of about 500 words on 3 areas of her/his interest. Brief note should include the purpose of research and its importance on the selected topics.

After submission of application to International Students Office, it will be sent to Ph.D. section in the University. Thereafter Ph.D. section will communicate with the student.

Admission to Ph.D. programme will be finalized on the basis of interview by the committee appointed by the university authorities.

Provisional Eligibility Letter:

  • University authorities will issue the letter of Provisional Admission/ Eligibility letter subject to fulfilling all the criteria and availability of seat. This letter will enable him/ her to obtain students visa upon submission to Indian mission/consulate/embassy in his/her country.

Processing Fees
Modes of Payment :

  • The student/ friend /relative may pay in US $ in the University Bank Account of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, towards processing fee.
  • Bank / SWIFT transfer: Processing fee can be deposited into the account by wire transfer. Student must send scanned copy of transaction details with the name, course and year mention on top of the page, on the email id: [email protected] For account details Click here.

Step : 6

Final Admission

  • University authorities through their constituent units will issue final admission letter only on production of students’ visa subject to availability of seat at that point of time and on payment of tuition fees for that Academic year.
  • Kindly note that NRI/PIO/OCI students who already have multiple entry VISA to enter India also need to procure the provisional admission letter. It is mandatory regardless of the VISA status.

International Students must keep in mind:

  • It is mandatory for the students to come and report within the time frame i.e. between June 30th to July 30th or the date as mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter, whichever is earlier. (This is not applicable to Ph.D. admissions)
  • The student will be required to confirm to all the rules and conditions mentioned in the letter issued to him/her.

Students should make sure that annual fees are paid and all formalities are completed before date mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter or June 30th.

Timings of Payment of Eligibility Fees and Tuition Fees

Final Admission

  • At the time of form submission with documents – US $ 25 for UG /diploma/ PG/PG Diploma and US $ 45 for Ph.D. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provisional Admission Letter pay an eligibility fee of US $400/- for any Bachelors program and US $ 500/- for any Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provision Admission Letter pay a Medical Checkup fee for all Diploma, Certificate, Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.

Tuition Fees

  • Foreign students should pay their tuition fee after acquisition of Visa The student will be required to pay all the fees including tuition fees as prescribed by the University at the time of firm admission. COURSE FEE The Processing Fee, Provisional / Eligibility fees and Medical Checkup Fee paid to the College/University are non-refundable and valid only for that year. e. g. 2017-18. If a student could not obtain visa and join the course in 2017-18, he will have to make a fresh application for 2018-19.

Also note- Tuition fees are paid for every academic year (June-May) and are charged semester- wise. Backlog or year down students have to pay fees at the time of admission to next year.

Other Important Information for the International Students

If, at any stage, the student is found not eligible for admission, university has the right to cancel his/her admission.

Student Visa Requirement

International students who wish to study in India should obtain a Student Visa before travelling to India. Once he/she has been issued a provisional eligibility letter to study at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), he/she should immediately apply for his/her student visa. www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Checklist for the Firm Admission

Provisional admissions would be finalized only on production of

  • Original academic transcripts, degrees, certificates, etc
  • The student's passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Original eligibility letter.
  • Complete payment of all relevant fees. Submit copy of the receipts of complete payments made to the University
  • Medical check-up clearance which includes physicians general fitness certificate.Each International student (NRI/Foreigner/PIO/ OCI) who transfers the fees into the university account or takes out a DD is requested to send the scan and email transaction document to [email protected] and do not forget to mention the student’s name, course and year of course for which he /she is paying the fees; on funds transfer document. Code of Conduct & Discipline for International Student

Anti-Ragging Policy :

  • Ragging is a punishable offence. Honorable Supreme Court of India has held as follows, “If any incidents of ragging come to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution”.

In Campus :

  • At Bharati Vidyapeeth University, international students are expected to abide by all the rules of the University and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian Students doing the same course.
  • Any act within the campus that may violate or spoil the academic atmosphere in the University will not be appreciated and the student found guilty of such offence will be dismissed and sent back to their country without any cost to Bharati Vidyapeeth University.

    • Plagiarism, cheating on exams, other dishonesty

Out Side the Campus:

  • Any complaint or reporting of misbehavior, violence, anti-social, antinational, unethical and immoral activities involving International students will be dealt with in accordance with state and central laws that are in force.
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth University will not take any responsibility for any criminal or non-criminal acts done outside the campus, when the Students are in the rolls of the University.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous organisation of the Government of India, was established in 1950. The objectives of the Council, as defined in its Memorandum of Association, are:

International Students Grievance Redressal Cell

International Students’ Office has Grievance Redressal Cell in the department where student can lodge their grievances. A Grievance Redressal Cell under the concern Faculties resolves the grievances. An Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) has been set up under Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) for dealing with the complaints filed under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act 2013). The procedure is based on the Principles of Natural Justice.

Women’s Cell:

The International Students’ Cell has formed a committee to redress the women related issues. Complaint Box is installed as per norms, nearby the Director, International Students’ Cell office, Principal’s Office. Complaints can be lodge in person or can be dropped in the Complaint Box located outside the Director’s Chamber. English Language Certificate Courses (ELCC)

Over the years we have realised that quite a few students coming from non-Engish speaking countries need to upgrade their skills in English language. They experience numerous difficulties in understanding the language and in communicating in it. Although these students are otherwise brilliant, they are likely to lag behind in their studies mainly because of their deficiency in English language. With a view to assisting students and to develop their English language skills, the University has launched a course of Advanced Learning of English language in the International Students' Office.

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) expects all students to be proficient in English. If your English proficiency does not meet the required standard, you may wish to study at the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Office before the commencement or during your degree or diploma course.

It is important for us to assess the students' level of English to see whether you will be able to cope with your chosen programme. Students whose English is not at a desired level, or who still need extra practice, will be asked to spend more time on their English and take up the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Certificate Course (ELCC) during their study or before taking their main programme.

Twinning Program (TP)

Twinning Programs involve partly study at Bharati Vidyapeeth University and remaining part at the Partner University. Through mutual transfer of credits, the results will be finalized and the candidates receive degrees from both the Universities. This Scheme provides the advantage of recognition of their degrees in both the countries either for placements or higher studies. Bharati Vidyapeeth University has acquired many such partnerships with foreign universities specially, in countries like Singapore, France, Australia, UK, Ireland and USA.

Semester Abroad Program (SAP)

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University students will get an opportunity to spend 4 to 6 months abroad during their final year study towards their project work or thesis. This will provide an opportunity for these students to develop contacts with those universities later for their higher studies. Further, the quality of these project works carried out there are of superior academic content of high practical value.

Internship Abroad Program

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University 3rd Year students will get an opportunity to spend 20 to 30 days in University West, Sweden. The student will participate in practical exercises using a state-of- the-art laboratory to ensure that you get the requisite hands-on experience.

Study Tour (ST)

Students of Bharati Vidyapeeth University have an option to visit partner universities abroad as a part of study tour and can attend the classes offered by foreign Professors for a period of 7-10 days. International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)

ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) is a voluntary program organized every year by Bharati Vidyapeeth University as a part of the curriculum for the student managers during the 3rd Semester (January-April). In this students get a chance to be a part of their culture and show them a small part of ours. This program helps the student managers get an exposure of very diverse backgrounds and bring their learning back and share it with their fellow batch mates. Reaching Pune

The city of Pune is located in the hills of Sahyadri Mountains at about 170 k.m. on the Deccan Plateau, South of Mumbai.

If one reaches Mumbai, Pune is not far off and not very difficult to reach. Most of the International flights arrive at Sahar International Airport in Mumbai. There are several trains between Mumbai and Pune. They leave from Dadar terminus-a suburb of Mumbai. One can reach Pune by air also. There are several flights from Mumbai to Pune which start from the Domestic Airport at Mumbai.

Addedly, there are several private buses and taxies which ply between Pune and Mumbai rendering services to the passengers day and night.

You may also arrange for someone to pick you up from the airport. Some hotels arrange for an airport pickup. It is a good idea to purchase a city map right away, so that you don't loose your sense of direction in a new city. Maps are available at every bookshop at the airport.

Admissions

When International students arrive in India, they should contact the Director of the International Students' Office immediately.

The International Students' Office will guide and help them in completing the admission formalities. Students must produce all the necessary documents including passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), original academic transcripts, diplomas, degrees etc., a copy of all the pages of the passport and two passport size photographs. At the time of admission, the student will have to pay tuition and other fees, so he/she will have to bring with him adequate money for the payment of this fee. The student should keep in mind that, it will not be possible for the University to give him/her admission if he/she fails to produce the required documents/ to make the payment of fees in full. He should take admission before the date which is mentioned in the letter issued to him. The University will not be responsible if the student fails to get admission because of his failure in seeking the admission before the prescribed date.

The International Students' Office will guide and help them in completing the admission formalities. Financial Needs

When a student travels to India, he/she needs to bring enough money to cover his/her immediate needs on arrival in India, including transit expenses, customs charges, transportation fares, initial expenditure at his/her place of study and emergency expenses.

It would be prudent to bring cash in US Dollars which can be exchanged at the airport. International debit/credit cards are mostly functional and accepted in India. Traveller's Cheques are accepted only at certain places, while banks would readily exchange them.

One of the prerequisites of student residential permits in India is that the students must have a bank account. To open an account in India, International students will need to have their admission letter, residential permit and passport, and some banks may also need the student bona fide certificate as evidence or may require some more documents. Individual banks have different policies and charges for opening a bank account. It normally takes few working days to receive the cheque book and card so a student must bring some cash/travellers cheques to carry him/her through this time. He/she can also exchange his/her foreign currency at any bank or any foreign exchange office around the country.

It may be noted that the International students will not get any financial assistance from the University or the College nor he will be able to earn money through summer jobs, so the student is advised to ensure that he has enough funding to cover all the expenses during his stay in India.

Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.)

International students must register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) of the Commissioner of Police, Pune, within 7 days of their arrival. It is extremely important that the International students register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) within 7 days of their arrival. The Foreigner's Registration Office (F.R.O.) shall register International students and issue them a residential permit which is normally valid for a period of one year and should be renewed 15 days before its expiry date. The documents needed here would be:

  • A provisional eligibility letter.
  • Passport with an endorsed Student Visa.
  • Passport size photographs.

Accommodation

Accommodation is one of the other aspects that a student must follow up on his/her arrival. If a student opts to rent a flat, then each accommodation provider or agent is a little different in his/her requirements. Rents and deposits also are different depending on various factors like locality, kind of housing and services etc. Some International students may choose to stay as a pay-n-guest which is advertised in local newspapers. And of course we have hostel facilities at our campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) which could be provided for if available only.

A certain number of seats in the hostel on both the campuses are reserved for International students. They will be allotted to them on first come first served basis. Those students who are not able to get accommodation in the hostel will have to try for private accommodation. Students living in hostels and even in private houses will have to adhere to the rules and regulations.

Medical check-up/No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Professional Courses

  • An International student will have to undergo a medical checkup at his/her own cost. He/she will be required to submit a report of this medical examination to the University. Also, an International student will have to undergo HIV Test at the Bharati Vidyapeeth's Medical College, Pune at his/her own cost and submit a report of the test to the University.
  • Final admission of professional courses is subject to producing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Government of India.

Note: The admission of International students will not be finalised unless he/she produces the above mentioned documents.

Pune has great historical tradition and an ideal geographical location. Almost two centuries ago it came on the political map as a place where strong nationalism started taking roots. Pune is located at an altitude of almost 2000 feet above sea level and partially hidden by the Sahyadri mountain ranges. The place has witnessed a spectacular movement and a tremendous growth and a rapid face-lift yet retaining its ancient and traditional character.

The city of Pune which is described as the "Queen of the Deccan" is a historical city. It came into political prominence as the capital city of the Marathas, a warrior community in Maharashtra during the reign of Shivaji the Great, about 375 years ago. Since then it has evolved itself as a socio-cultural capital of Maharashtra region. It is a cultural icon of Marathi speaking people. Pune became more prominent after the advent of British in this part of the country in the 18th century. It was a very active and volatile centre of revolutionary activities during the independence movement. Note :- Medical Checkup and Insurance is compulsory for everyone. Fees for the same is US $100 (for first year) and to be paid at the time of confirm admission.

English Proficiency Test

There will be English Proficiency Test (EPT) of students. Fees for EPT is US $25 (Non-refundable). If anyone fails in EPT, then he/she will be suggested different English courses. Fee structure for that courses will be communicated from time to time.

Admission Cycle

Students can begin to apply from March through June of the academic year for the admission in the Academic Year that begins in June-July. For example June 2018 admission cycle will begin in March, 2018 and admissions will be open through June 2018. Students are requested to submit completed applications well within time frame so as to get the confirmation of admission in time. The courses start between June 15th through July 30th every year.

Note:

The international students; whose academic year completes by August-end or mid-September, can join English Language Program before taking admission to main course.

  • It is mandatory that the applicant has an adequate knowledge of English.
  • Please check the minimum entry requirements for the intended degree and submit your application only if those requirements are fulfilled. Courses and eligibility
  • Complete all relevant sections of the application form and please write ‘Not Applicable’ in front of the sections which do not apply to you. Please do not leave any blank columns.
  • Make sure you have all supporting documents ready for your application. Your application cannot be processed unless all sections of the application form are filled in and all supporting documents are provided to the University.

Along with the form the candidate should submit a brief note of about 500 words on 3 areas of her/his interest. Brief note should include the purpose of research and its importance on the selected topics.

After submission of application to International Students Office, it will be sent to Ph.D. section in the University. Thereafter Ph.D. section will communicate with the student.

Admission to Ph.D. programme will be finalized on the basis of interview by the committee appointed by the university authorities.

Processing Fees
Modes of Payment :

  • The student/ friend /relative may pay in US $ in the University Bank Account of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, towards processing fee.
  • Bank / SWIFT transfer: Processing fee can be deposited into the account by wire transfer. Student must send scanned copy of transaction details with the name, course and year mention on top of the page, on the email id:  [email protected] For account details Click here.

Final Admission

  • University authorities through their constituent units will issue final admission letter only on production of students’ visa subject to availability of seat at that point of time and on payment of tuition fees for that Academic year.
  • Kindly note that NRI/PIO/OCI students who already have multiple entry VISA to enter India also need to procure the provisional admission letter. It is mandatory regardless of the VISA status.

International Students must keep in mind:

  • It is mandatory for the students to come and report within the time frame i.e. between June 30th to July 30th or the date as mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter, whichever is earlier. (This is not applicable to Ph.D. admissions)
  • The student will be required to confirm to all the rules and conditions mentioned in the letter issued to him/her.

Students should make sure that annual fees are paid and all formalities are completed before date mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter or June 30th.

Timings of Payment of Eligibility Fees and Tuition Fees

Final Admission

  • At the time of form submission with documents – US $ 25 for UG /diploma/ PG/PG Diploma and US $ 45 for Ph.D. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provisional Admission Letter pay an eligibility fee of US $400/- for any Bachelors program and US $ 500/- for any Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  • At the time of Provision Admission Letter pay a Medical Checkup fee for all Diploma, Certificate, Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.

Tuition Fees

  • Foreign students should pay their tuition fee after acquisition of Visa The student will be required to pay all the fees including tuition fees as prescribed by the University at the time of firm admission. COURSE FEE The Processing Fee, Provisional / Eligibility fees and Medical Checkup Fee paid to the College/University are non-refundable and valid only for that year. e. g. 2017-18. If a student could not obtain visa and join the course in 2017-18, he will have to make a fresh application for 2018-19.

Also note- Tuition fees are paid for every academic year (June-May) and are charged semester- wise. Backlog or year down students have to pay fees at the time of admission to next year.

Provisional admission will be finalized by personal interview /counseling.

Joining the college

  • Submit original documents which will be returned within 2-3 months
  • Submitting the Undertaking : Anti ragging undertaking
  • Student seeking admission to any of the courses in any of our Constituent Colleges will have to give an undertaking that he/she will abide by all the rules and regulations of the University as a student of this University– Rules and Regulations

Other Important Information for the International Students

If, at any stage, the student is found not eligible for admission, university has the right to cancel his/her admission.

Student Visa Requirement

International students who wish to study in India should obtain a Student Visa before travelling to India. Once he/she has been issued a provisional eligibility letter to study at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), he/she should immediately apply for his/her student visa. www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.

International students should make sure that the Student Visa is endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) by the visa issuing authority.

Checklist for the Firm Admission

Provisional admissions would be finalized only on production of

  • Original academic transcripts, degrees, certificates, etc
  • The student's passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  • Original eligibility letter.
  • Complete payment of all relevant fees. Submit copy of the receipts of complete payments made to the University
  • Medical check-up clearance which includes physicians general fitness certificate.Each International student (NRI/Foreigner/PIO/ OCI) who transfers the fees into the university account or takes out a DD is requested to send the scan and email transaction document to [email protected] and do not forget to mention the student’s name, course and year of course for which he /she is paying the fees; on funds transfer document. The student who pays in cash must scan and email the receipt to [email protected]. All International students must keep one set of all receipts of the paid fees to the University with them. These receipts are needed for the various scholarships when the international student desires to apply for the same.

Code of Conduct & Discipline for International Student

Anti-Ragging Policy :

  • Ragging is a punishable offence. Honorable Supreme Court of India has held as follows, “If any incidents of ragging come to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution”.

In Campus :

  • At Bharati Vidyapeeth University, international students are expected to abide by all the rules of the University and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian Students doing the same course.
  • Any act within the campus that may violate or spoil the academic atmosphere in the University will not be appreciated and the student found guilty of such offence will be dismissed and sent back to their country without any cost to Bharati Vidyapeeth University.
    • Abuse of electronic resources
    • Acts or threats involving the safety of others
    • Damaging property
    • Plagiarism, cheating on exams, other dishonesty
    • Sexual or other harassment
    • Abuse of alcohol or illicit drugs
    • Ragging

Out Side the Campus:

  • Any complaint or reporting of misbehavior, violence, anti-social, antinational, unethical and immoral activities involving International students will be dealt with in accordance with state and central laws that are in force.
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth University will not take any responsibility for any criminal or non-criminal acts done outside the campus, when the Students are in the rolls of the University.

Dress Code:

To maintain the good image of the University, you are reminded that you must be properly attired in a manner befitting the status of university students when you are on campus.

Note :

  • In case of violation of the dress code the student concerned will be asked to leave the academic session.
  • Visiting students are also expected to observe the dress code.

Outside the campus :

  • It is ideal to wear casuals when outside the campus.
  • ‘For both ladies and gents, western style clothing is acceptable in India’.
  • In January, February and March the climate will be pleasant.
  • One set of formals would be very useful during the party time, university functions and industrial visits.
  • Generally rainy season is from July to September. During these rainy days, use umbrella.

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous organisation of the Government of India, was established in 1950. The objectives of the Council, as defined in its Memorandum of Association, are:

  • To participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes relating to India’s external cultural relations
  • To promote cultural exchange with other countries and peoples
  • To promote and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries
  • To establish and develop relations with national and international organisations in the field of culture

The Council, with its Headquarters in Azad Bhavan, New Delhi, carries out this mandate of cultural diplomacy through a wide spectrum of activities which include:

Programmes Wing:

  • Exchanges of visits by scholars, academicians, opinion-makers, artists & writers
  • Facilitation of the organisation of and participation in seminars and symposia abroad
  • Exchanges of visits by performing arts groups
  • Exchanges of exhibitions
  • Commissioning of busts and statues of Indian leaders for installation abroad

International Students Grievance Redressal Cell

International Students’ Office has Grievance Redressal Cell in the department where student can lodge their grievances. A Grievance Redressal Cell under the concern Faculties resolves the grievances. An Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) has been set up under Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) for dealing with the complaints filed under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act 2013). The procedure is based on the Principles of Natural Justice.

Women’s Cell:

The International Students’ Cell has formed a committee to redress the women related issues. Complaint Box is installed as per norms, nearby the Director, International Students’ Cell office, Principal’s Office. Complaints can be lodge in person or can be dropped in the Complaint Box located outside the Director’s Chamber. Any complaints of the students regarding ragging or sexual harassment or academic affairs can be lodged also through online portal for ‘Grievance Redressal’ in the form below.

English Language Certificate Courses (ELCC)

Over the years we have realised that quite a few students coming from non-Engish speaking countries need to upgrade their skills in English language. They experience numerous difficulties in understanding the language and in communicating in it. Although these students are otherwise brilliant, they are likely to lag behind in their studies mainly because of their deficiency in English language. With a view to assisting students and to develop their English language skills, the University has launched a course of Advanced Learning of English language in the International Students' Office.

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) expects all students to be proficient in English. If your English proficiency does not meet the required standard, you may wish to study at the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Office before the commencement or during your degree or diploma course.

It is important for us to assess the students' level of English to see whether you will be able to cope with your chosen programme. Students whose English is not at a desired level, or who still need extra practice, will be asked to spend more time on their English and take up the Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)'s English Language Certificate Course (ELCC) during their study or before taking their main programme.

Twinning Program (TP)

Twinning Programs involve partly study at Bharati Vidyapeeth University and remaining part at the Partner University. Through mutual transfer of credits, the results will be finalized and the candidates receive degrees from both the Universities. This Scheme provides the advantage of recognition of their degrees in both the countries either for placements or higher studies. Bharati Vidyapeeth University has acquired many such partnerships with foreign universities specially, in countries like Singapore, France, Australia, UK, Ireland and USA.

Semester Abroad Program (SAP)

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University students will get an opportunity to spend 4 to 6 months abroad during their final year study towards their project work or thesis. This will provide an opportunity for these students to develop contacts with those universities later for their higher studies. Further, the quality of these project works carried out there are of superior academic content of high practical value.

Internship Abroad Program

Under this program, the Bharati Vidyapeeth University 3rd Year students will get an opportunity to spend 20 to 30 days in University West, Sweden. The student will participate in practical exercises using a state-of- the-art laboratory to ensure that you get the requisite hands-on experience.

Study Tour (ST)

Students of Bharati Vidyapeeth University have an option to visit partner universities abroad as a part of study tour and can attend the classes offered by foreign Professors for a period of 7-10 days. In addition to academic exposure, they are exposed to International cultural issues by associating with the locals there.

International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)

ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) is a voluntary program organized every year by Bharati Vidyapeeth University as a part of the curriculum for the student managers during the 3rd Semester (January-April). In this students get a chance to be a part of their culture and show them a small part of ours. This program helps the student managers get an exposure of very diverse backgrounds and bring their learning back and share it with their fellow batch mates.
