Overview

The dedicated researchers of the Department of Anaesthesiology are actively involved in both basic science research and clinical investigation.

They are committed to developing new drugs that are safer and more effective. In order to support their research work, the department has collaborated with a training centre and a clinic.

Research Collaboration

  • The department has signed MOU with the CIPLA palliative care and training center, Pune for an observer-ship of the students pursuing a fellowship in chronic pain.
  • The department has tied up with Daradia Pain clinic, Kolkata for learning clinical aspects of pain management.

Publications

The Department of Anaesthesiology conducts various research programs and activities. Both the faculty members and the students have several publications to their credit. The faculty members keep themselves engaged in research projects with a focus on the areas of newer technical modalities, drugs, and regional adjuvants. Currently, they are involved in four ongoing research projects.

  • Dr.Keniya - Use of water-based spine model as a learning tool for identification of spine structures under ultrasound - an observational study
  • Dr.Keniya - A comparative study of USG guided erector spine plane block versus local anaesthetic infiltration in spine surgeries for postop analgesia
  • Dr.Abhay Sancheti - USG guided ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric nerve block versus caudal block for postoperative analgesia in children
  • Dr.Keniya - Validation of ultrasound for performing caudal epidural injections
