Overview

Since 1995, the Social Sciences Centre has been recognized as a nodal research centre for Ph.D. in Social Work and Sociology.

A number of social work research studies and action research projects have been conducted at the centre since its establishment. The main objective of the centre is to focus on systematic, fact-based and action-oriented research that creates social work related knowledge for social work education and practice. The faculty of the centre has also published a number of research papers in various national and international journals, boosting the recognition of the centre as a research centre. The centre for the local, state and national government agencies conducts collaborative research studies.
