Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Bharati Vidyapeeth(Deemed to be University) College of Engineering-Pune had organized 5 days faculty development program on Fiber optic Communications during 4th November 2019 to 8th November 2019. Department have fully equipped lab with instruments like:-

• SCIENTECH 2506- Laser Fiber Optic Kit with Trans-receiver facility
• SCIENTECH-2502- Dual channel Optical Communication
• OTDR Unit
• DSO
• Optical Power Meter etc.

We had expert faculty from Scientech ;Mr. Anand Pawar as Instructor for whole duration of workshop. First day (4th November 2019) of FDP was focused on understanding the basic underlining principles of fiber optic communication and how it is different from normal wired communication. What are different fundamental components involved in fiber optic communication from transmitter

to receiver. On Second and third day (5th and 6th November 2019) actual hands On session was conducted on “Laser Fiber Optic Kit” available in E&TC department. Simple transmission of basic signals using Laser as source was observed with SCIENTECH 2506 kit. Fourth day of FDP was about studying high speed transmission of digital data from PC to PC using Dual Channel Optical communication kit. Here stream of data, including text, image etc. were transferred from one PC to another. Final day (8th November 2019) was reserved for measurement of optical power using optical power meter and clearing doubts. In evening session Certificates were distributed to participants by Head of The Department Dr. S.K.Oza.
