Established in 1981-82 as a post-graduate research and training centre, the Social Sciences Center of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University aims to conduct, organize and undertake specialized studies in the field of Social Sciences.
As a grant-in aid Institution under the Commissionerate of Social Welfare, Govt. of Maharashtra, the centre specifically has an objective to impart education for the practice of professional social work. To spread the aforementioned objective and knowledge of the field, the centre offers a Post-Graduate degree in Social Work i.e., Master of Social Work (M.S.W.). The programme is recognized by the Commissionerate of Social Welfare Govt. of Maharashtra vide its letter No. SSW/Recog/B.V./83/D-6, dated 12/07/1982.
