About Department

The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology aims to bring about confluence of academic excellence and promoting development of scientific temper amongst the students. We strive to attain perfection in histopathological evaluation and diagnosis to aid the patients and society on the whole.

Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology at Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital, Sangli was established in year 2007. Department deals with pathological reporting of biopsies of head and neck region reported to the department. Also, the department is involved in teaching two subjects i.e. Dental Anatomy, Embryology & Oral Histology in 1st year BDS and Oral Pathology & Microbiology in 2nd and 3rd year BDS.

The department has well equipped spacious practical halls for undergraduate teaching. Department also accommodate seminar room with audio-visual aids.

The department houses a well-arranged museum containing special pathological specimens, 3D models of different pathologies and developmental anomalies, cast models, teeth specimens and calendars of pathologies, which are regularly accessed by students and interns. Department has well qualified and experienced faculty, who are involved in innovative teaching and learning process
