Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Institute of Environment Education and Research (BVIEER) organised a week-long Induction Programme from 6th to 10th July 2026 to welcome students of M.Sc. Geoinformatics, M.Sc. Environmental Science & Technology (EVST), B.Sc. Wildlife Conservation Action (WCA), and the Joint International Master of Environmental Sustainability (JIMES).
The programme began with a formal inauguration and welcome address by Prof. Dr. Shamita Kumar, Principal, BVIEER, followed by interactions with Prof. Dr. Christina Bogner, University of Cologne, Germany who joined online to address the students and an industry session by Mr. Rishinandhan from Esri India on emerging geospatial technologies.
Throughout the week, students participated in alumni interactions and activities designed to help them connect with their peers and the institute. Experts from the corporate sector were invited to conduct engaging activities on teamwork, confidence building, communication, and time management. The programme concluded with academic orientation sessions covering the curriculum, research opportunities, academic regulations, etc. The induction provided a comprehensive introduction to life at BVIEER, preparing students for a rewarding academic journey through interaction, collaboration, and experiential learning.
