On 6th Feb.2023 we the 2nd B.Sc.101 Nursing students of Bharati Vidyapeeth college of nursing Sangli participated in Leprosy Awareness Rally on the occasion of WORLD LEPROSY DAY (30 JAN 2023) organised by the Mahanagrpalika, Miraj So as per our educational requirement joined under the supervision of Mrs Swati Kurane (MSN), Mrs. Sudaivi Kadam (CHN), Mr. Sachin Sakate (MSN) Bharati College of Nursing Sangli, Flagging off an awareness rally on Monday 6/2/2023, Dr Ravindra Tate highlighted the importance of getting medical attention during the preliminary stage itself.

Dr. Ravindra Tate said that the number of leprosy patients for every 10,000 population in the country had drastically come down from 118 in 1983 to 1 presently because of the sustained effort by the government.

He urged the officials and the public to work together to identify people with leprosy symptoms in the initial stage itself and make Miraj Sangli a leprosy-free district soon.

Dr Shivaji Aldar (ADHS), Civil Hospital Sangli, Mrs Mane also participated in the rally from Gandhi chowck till Laxmi market.
