REPORT ON BREAST FEEDING WEEK

Theme 'ENABLING BREAST FEEDING: MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR WORKING PARENTS'. 

Breast feeding week was celebrated by nursing college in collaboration with aditya rainbow hospital Sangli. Obstetrics and gynacology department, pediatric department and 4th yr BSc nursing students were involved in the programme.

Program was scheduled as per following

Day 1 (01-08-2023)

INUGURATION – by Dr.H.M.Kadam Sir. Regional director, Bharati hospital and research centre.

Then skit and Poster Exhibition was done by 4th year BSC nursing students in OPD premises.

Session 1st

Theme was declared by DR. (MRS) Nilima Rajan Bhore. Dean and faculty of nursing, principal. Bharati Vidyapeeth, college of nursing, Sangli. 1st Session was conducted by Dr.Amit Tagare on the topic “Significance of Breast Feeding “

2nd session was conducted by Mrs. Archana Rohit Dhanawade on “Preparation of Mother for breast feeding”

Day 2 (02/08/2023)

In morning: Fourth year B.Sc nursing students performed skit and poster exhibition in obstetrics and gynaecology ward .

In afternoon (2pm to 3pm)

3rd session was conducted by Ms. Dana Hardy, on “ Components of skilled Lactation Care : Supporting Families for Breast Feeding Success”. This session was live.


(3pm to 4pm)

4th session was conducted by Ms. Jessica Gabriel on “ WHO Code and BFHI 10 Steps”


Day 3 (03/08/2023)

In morning Fourth year Bsc nursing students was performed skit and poster exhibition in Sangliwadi.

In afternoon (2pm to 3pm)

5th session was conducted by Dr. Shraduli Terwadkar on “Difficulties in Breast Feeding” and “Importance of counselling in Breast Feeding consultation”.

Day 4 (04/08/2023)

In morning Fourth year B.Sc nursing students was performed skit and poster exhibition in Paediatric ward.

In afternoon (2pm to 3pm)

7th session was conducted by Dr. (Mrs) Nilima Rajan Bhore on “Role of nurse in successful Breast feeding”.

8th session was conducted by Dr. Amit Tagare on the topic “Maternal Diseases and Breast feeding” .

Day 5 (07/08/2023)

In afternoon (2pm to 4pm) This session was conducted by Dr.Priya Prabhu, associate professor, PSM department, government medical college, Miraj. On the topic Enabiling Nurses for Breast Feeding.
