Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune.

Welcome to the online information portal of the Department of GYNAECOLOGY & OBSTETRICS Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Homoeopathic Medical College. Our Department, since its inception has always been, student centric. Its focus has been on needs of the community for women care right from menarche to post-menopause

EDUCATION

Our mission is to nurture competent and compassionate future medical doctors for India by providing high quality education. With proficiency we train, those who can spearhead India’s efforts to strengthen the Health and welfare of women in rural and urban areas. To establish a balance between the "theory been Taught" and the "realistic practical application" is and has been the charm of our Department. Today we stand as faculty, but we haven't forgotten the difficulties faced by us as students, in new practice! Consequently all departmental activities are planned after perceiving practical difficulties of clinical practice.
Experiential learning has been our Mission, to build decision-making potential in the clinical world. Co-Curricular activities such as field visits to other Homeopathic hospitals to gain knowledge, share and understand the different techniques of practices. Our department has always kept a broad perspective to keep Homoeopathy alive in masses by opening knowledge doors for different schools of thought. This has shown encouraging results in our alumni. They have cashed-in all opportunities created by our Department, in learning prospective. Go through their testimonials on this website. Here we take special efforts to co-relate all co-ordinates of data from case history and blend  with concepts of -Organon of Medicine, Homeopathic Materia Medica and Gynaecology & Obstetrics .In case presentations in clinical sessions, this is done to get a thorough understanding of a Homoeopathic approach to a case.
Students like to glue to Department for its Guest Lectures and workshops. Where students interact with faculty beyond college walls, get their guidance, clues on various aspects of practice. We bear the nurturing responsibility, right from professional grooming to clinical practices. Imbibing ethical culture amongst students.
Discipline regarding attendance and the punctuality in updating work like journals is never compromised. Cultivating a scientific fervor not only keeps them up in practice but prepares for new disease challenges in community. Key is in their’ applicability of concepts ‘which is a sound base.  This helps them in being firm, leading them to take decisive calls, redirecting patients to other school of medicine at the right time. They can draw definite lines between their scope and limitations.
This type of education and nurturing brings out ‘True Physician’ of students of our Department. Learning how to stand after a fall, is what we aim for and this is only possible because of the dedication of the Faculty, who is ready to teach retrospective thinking in a particular case.
This is done in a matter of 2 years! Right from second year this subject commences and the exam is in the third year. Importance of this subject is significant because even though the world seems to be governed by patriarchy but the Indian community has strong community of home governors- WOMEN. The need of their care is on the rise due to the various awareness programmes run by the government, even in the rural areas too.
To all the aspiring young doctors out there, I earnestly request you to align your clinical practice goals with ours and together we shall build a better and healthy future for the women of this country with help of Homoeopathy.
Our ultimate goal is to train skilled health care professionals by teaching the basic structure of the human body and clinical applications which will aid them in future for careful diagnosis and proper treatment for patients.
