The institute is renowned for its academic excellence and infrastructural facilities. It was initially affiliated to the University of Pune till it became a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) in April 1996 a unique multidisciplinary University with ‘A++’ Grade accreditation in its 4th cycle in 2024 by NAAC and Category - 1 (Deemed to be University) Grade by UGC. As well as The Quality Control of India (QCI) accredited this Institute with ‘A+’ Grade in year 2024. Our Homoeopathic hospital is acrreditated with ‘NABH Entry Level Certification’ in 2026. The Homoeopathic Medical College is located at Dhankawadi Educational Campus, Pune- Satara Road in a well-designed building. Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Dept. of AYUSH, New Delhi has accorded permission to our college to start P.G. Courses in Homoeopathy [M.D.(HOM)] from the academic year 2006-2007 in five selected specialties with six (06) regular admissions in each speciality. [Approved by F.no.R.14014/05/2005EP, Dated 07 August, 2006 by Dept. of AYUSH, M/o H. & FW. Govt. of India, New Delhi - 110001, on the recommendation of CCH, New Delhi - 58 for regular basis.]
Accordingly, institute runs Post-graduate programs in 5 speciality subjects as in 1. Homoeopathic Materia Medica 2. Repertory 3. Homoeopathic Pharmacy 4. Practice of Medicine 5. Homoeopathic Philosophy and Doctoral programs in 3 speciality subjects as in1. Homoeopathic Materia Medica 2. Repertory 3. Homoeopathic Pharmacy with the objective to produce excellent professional thinkers, practitioners, researchers and teachers in Homoeopathy. The above mention programs are included in Second Schedule of Homoeopathy Central Council Act. 1973 as per the Notification in Gazette of India Dated-7 December 2012.
In the present rapidly changing medical education scenario and health care delivery systems, along with the growth and development in information and communication technology, medical education has become more dynamic than ever before. In this dynamic environment our endeavour is to make our students competent, confident, self-reliant ready for change. Our focus is on student centered education by imparting best knowledge to our students. The focus is on higher levels of learning, comprehension, analysis and application of homoeopathic knowledge. Our emphasis is on developing the right kind of
attitude and humane approach in treating the sick and needy. Special efforts are taken to see if the students have learnt the necessary skills to become competent Homoeopathic Physicians.
To achieve this, we have excellent, experienced and dedicated faculty who are trained in advanced level teaching technologies. We have exclusive Homoeopathic Hospital with 80 bed strength and full-fledged operation theatre so students get good surgical procedural exposure. Our OPD and IPD attract large number of patients and students get worthy clinical exposure. The hospital serves to care for the patients. We provide OPD services to the rural society by means of Homoeopathic Mobile Clinic at Jambhulwadi, Waghjai Mandir - Kolewadi, ZP School - Holkarwadi, Ganesh Mandir - Shindewadi, Anganwadi - Sasewadi. The students are always encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities as well as in research activities to showcase their talents. Recently our 3 PG Scholars received Quality MD Dissertation Award & 3 UG students, received STSH Scholarship at conference held by AYUSH Ministry, CCRH New Delhi on World Homoeopathic Day. Our faculties done Research Paper presentation and Poster presentation during same conference on World Homoeopathic Day.
