The environment research community, government agencies or NGOs, all have appreciated the pioneering role this top-ranking institution has played in positioning Environmental Science, Geoinformatics and Wildlife Conservation Action as front ranking disciplines that shape a sustainable future.

  • Prof. Dr. Erach Bharucha has been honoured by the Earth Hero award by the Royal Bank of Scotland for his pioneering work in environment education in 2014.
  • Prof. Dr. Shamita Kumar was selected as one of the 75 women honoured for their achievements in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) by the office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India and the British High Commission in 2022 as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of India’s independence.
  • Dr. Erach Bharucha, BVIEER's Director, received the Sanctuary Lifetime Service Award, while Aswathi Asokan, MSc Wildlife Conservation and Action student, was honored with Sanctuary Asia's Young Naturalist Award 2023. Both recipients exemplify a commitment to conservation, earning recognition for their significant contributions and inspiring future generations through their remarkable efforts.
