Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED), Pune established by Bharati Vidyapeeth in 1978, is a well-known Business School in India. It is continuously contributing in the field of Management, Computer Science and Research since inception.

The institute has been ranked among Top Management Institutes in India. The institute’s consistent ratings and Best Institute awards are a testimony to its outstanding performance.

IMED is laid out on sprawling four acres of land with 'state-of-the-art' infrastructural & instructional facilities. As a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, IMED contributes in its own ways to the philosophy, vision and mission of Bharati Vidyapeeth i.e. “Be a World-Class University and a Global Resource in Innovative University Education for Ever-better World” and “Social Transformation Through Dynamic Education” respectively.

The success of the institute can be accredited to the team led by Dr. Ajit More, Director of IMED under the able guidance of the founder Honorable Dr. Patangraoji Kadam Saheb, Chancellor Honorable Prof. Dr. Shivajirao Kadam, Secretary Honorable Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam and Vice Chancellor Honorable Prof. Dr. Vivek Saoji. Because of timely support and encouragement received from the top management, IMED could reach this height in terms of ranking and Placements. IMED is one of the top institutes working in the field of management due to its excellent quality of education, excellent teaching methods, modern curriculum and golden employment opportunities. The influx of students from different parts of India (27 states and 10 countries) is seen in favor of IMED. MBA, MCA, BBA and BCA courses are preferred by these students.

The Specializations available are –Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, International Business, Operations, Information Technology (IT) and Agri Business.Every year more than 150 top MNC companies participate in the placement drive every year organized by Corporate Resource Cell (CRC). These include Amazon, TCS, KPMG Global Services, FinIQ, TATA AIG, Oracle, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudential, Aditya Birla, HDFC, Wipro, S&P Global, Tech Mahindra, etc. IMED has a very cordial relationship with all these companies. As a result, IMED has achieved its goal of 100% placement for the last several years running. These organizations also provide Internships to Students throughout the year. IMED's alumni association has also been instrumental in this. Students are prepared for Placement through expert session by Top Corporate Guests and Alumni regularly.

With a single point focus on students for their skills up gradation and making them Industry ready, IMED has MOU’s with a number of Industries, Companies, Academic Institutions of excellence outside India and Management and Technical Association bodies. In this respect it signed four Memorandum of Understanding’s (MOU’s) with the University’s and Industry’s recently. IMED signed a MOU with a top South Korean University-Dong Eui University- for Teacher-Students exchange, research and consultancy. Top officials from both the higher learning institutes signed the MOU detailing the areas of collaboration and the way ahead. As part of this MOU, Faculty and Students of both Institutes will benefit immensely and also carry out research and consultancy jointly.

IMED also has a MOU with a reputed European Institute of Higher Education –Linnaeus University, Sweden for last several years. This MOU covers Teacher-Students exchange, joint research, consultancy and Seminars and conferences.

IMED students regularly visit Greece, Argentina, Lithuania, Uganda, etc as part of the Students exchange program with European Erasmus+ organization.

IMED has collaborated with TCS for their BPM course for the BBA students. This gives students a complete study of the BPM course delivered by TCS faculty and also get Placements opportunities with TCS after BBA.

Recently IMED signed MOU with Pune Management Association (PMA) and with Pune headquartered M/s.Venkys India Ltd. for entrepreneurship mentoring, joint research and consultancy, workshops, guest lectures, etc. IMED has an Internship/Placement MOU with M/s. Internshala (an AICTE approved organization).This will benefit students of all programs vis-a-vis Internship and Placements in the top MNC’s in India.

IMED has taken the initiative to make online certification courses from the Top Universities and Companies in the world like MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, IBM, HP, IIM Bangalore, etc., available to Bharati Vidyapeeth University students through the ‘Edx-Online Platform’. More than 5000 students have benefitted from these online courses till date.

IMED made extensive use of technology to make the best use of students' time on the principle of 'No Lockdown for Learning', even in the face of terrible outbreaks and lockouts of Covid-19. The ICT tools used were Digital Hub, Learning Portal, Video / Audio Lectures, MS-Teams, WebEx, Google Classroom, E-library, etc.
