The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the institute carried out a special cleanliness drive at the Krishna Ghat on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, following the Ganesh Visarjan festivities.
The drive was aimed at restoring the sanctity and cleanliness of the riverfront after large gatherings of devotees had immersed Ganesh idols during the festival. Volunteers from the NSS unit actively participated in removing waste materials, decorations, flowers, and other non-biodegradable items from the ghat area.
Director Dr. Pallavi Jamsandekar appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of creating awareness among youth regarding environmental responsibility. She added that such efforts not only maintain the cleanliness of public spaces but also foster a sense of social commitment in students.
The activity was conducted under the guidance of institute’s NSS head Mr. Yogesh Patil .This cleanliness drive reflected the strong message of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and showcased the active role of young volunteers in protecting the environment.
