The Research Cell of the institute organized a one-day workshop on “Navigating Doctoral Supervision: Roles, Responsibilities & Challenges” on 9th September 2025. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sachin Kadam, Head – Ph.D. Section and Director – ICT, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune.
In his address, Dr. Kadam highlighted the evolving role of Ph.D. supervisors in ensuring research quality, academic integrity, and ethical practices. He explained the responsibilities of doctoral guides in mentoring scholars through proposal preparation, research methodology, data analysis, and publication in reputed journals.
The workshop also stressed the importance of building effective mentor–scholar relationships, adopting ICT tools in supervision, and overcoming challenges in doctoral research. Faculty members and research supervisors actively participated, making the session interactive and insightful.
Director Dr. Pallavi Jamsandekar welcomed and felicitated the resource person. The workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Pratap Desai, Head – Research Cell of the institute who expressed gratitude for Dr. Kadam’s valuable guidance and recognized the active participation of faculty members.
The one-day workshop proved highly enriching, equipping Ph.D. guides with practical insights to strengthen their supervisory role and enhance the overall quality of doctoral research.
