Awards & Achievements

Students of the School of Performing Arts have been participating in various competitions. Under the able guidance of Guru and continuous encouragement and support from college staff, they have won many prizes and awards as well as appreciation from audience. Their achievements include:
  • Award of national scholarship by the MoHRD, Govt. of India to various students.
  • Prizes in various inter-collegiate competitions.
  • Winning Gold and Silver Medals year-after-year in various events like Classical Vocal, Non-Percussion, Percussion, Folk Orchestra and Classical Dance, etc. in the West Zone Inter-University Youth Festivals, and National Inter-University Youth Festivals organized by Association of Indian Universities, Govt. of India.
  • Opportunity to perform at the Prestigious South Asian Inter-University Youth Festivals. This year we were invited to perform our Folk Orchestra in the Youth Festival organized by AIU at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana. Our performance was appreciated by dignitaries coming from various countries.
  • As the winners of Folk Orchestra category in National Youth Festival Feb – 2019, our Folk Orchestra team was invited to participate in First International University Youth Festival held in the month of September 2019 and organized by Chandigarh University, Chandigarh and AIU. Around 30 countries had participated in that Youth Festival. Our Folk Orchestra Team won Silver Medal in the competition and was the only Indian University who got the prize in this event.
  • Our students Shubham Khandalkar (Vocal) and Ninad Daithankar (Santoor) received scholarships for the year 2020-21 from Citi – NCPA, Mumbai for their advanced studies.
  • Shubham Ugale got 1st Prize for Pakhawaj Solo and Moushami Jaju got 1st Prize for Classical Dance (Kathak) Solo in the Amity Youth Forum Online Competition organized by Amity University, (UP) in the Month of May 2020.
  • Vinay Mundhe, a Tabla student of our college, received 2nd Prize in the 'Ekam Satt World Music League' competition held in 2020. The jury consisted of Ustad Zakir Hussain, Koushiki Chakraborty, and Rakesh Chouresiya.
  • The following students have got 1st, and 2nd Prizes in Online Mega Talent Show Competition organized by Pioneer Music and Arts School in the month of May 2020.

  • Pavan Zodge got 2nd Prize for Pakhawaj Solo in Maharashtra and Goa State level Online Competition organized by S. N. Creation and Devya Suryaji Group in the month of June 2020.
  • Ajinkya Ponkshe got Silver Medal as ‘Best Stage Singer’ in the 59th Maharashtra Rajya Sangeet Natya Competition this year.
  • Rachana Mulye got a scholarship from Swara Sadhana Samiti for the year 2020-21 for further studies in Vocal Music.
  • Our student Rameshwar Ghayal got 1st Prize for Pakhawaj Solo in Swara Madhuri Competition organized by Modern College, Pune in 2020, and 2nd Prize in the Sangeet Milan Competition, Pune in 2019.
  • Aditi Koratkar got 1st Prize for Classical Vocal Solo in ‘Sangeet Spardha’ organized in March 2020 by Kusumagraj Foundation, Nashik.
  • Khalil Alashar, our Kathak student performed a character of Krishna in a dance drama ‘Bhavahara’ held in Taiwan in 2019. He is a winner of Young Talent Artist Category in the Monsoon Festival held by the Hindusthan Art & Music Society, Kolkata, India in July 2020.
  • Our student Nilesh Rankhamb got the scholarship awarded in the name of Late Pt. Babanrao Haldankar in the year 2020.
  • Shubham Khandalkar stood 1st in a Classical Vocal Competition organized by Akhil Bharatiy Sanskrutik Sangh, Pune, an official partner of UNESCO and received the award of ‘Bharat Session’ in the year 2019.
  • Amritha Shenoy got ‘Dattatray Ratnaparakhi Shastriy Gayan Award’ in the year 2019 from Gaanwardhan, Pune.
  • Kedar Kelkar received ‘Late Ushatai Mujumdar Smruti Award’ in the Competition organized by Gaanwardhan, Pune in 2019. Also he has received ‘Shanmukhanand Bank of Baroda Bharat Ratna Dr. M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship’ in Music from Shanmukhanand Fine Arts and Sangeeth Sabha in 2019.
  • Sanket Sapre stood 1st in the Classical Music Competition held in 2019 and organized by Samrat Club International.
  • Our students Dhaval Joshi, Nandita Acharya and Shubhankar Bhat participated in a competition ‘Astitva – 2019’ organized by BMCC, Pune and won 1st prize in ‘Classical Instrumental Group’ event.
  • Harshad Kulkarni won 1st Prize for Semi Classical Vocal Solo in ‘Impression – 2019’ organized by College of Engineering Pune and powered by MTV.
  • In a competition organized by Harvallabh Sangeet Samaroha. Our students Mr. Shubham Ugale (Pakhawaj) got 1st Prize, Ajinkya Galande (Tabla) and Mr. Dhanjay Bongane (Pakhawaj) got 2nd Prize in the competition. As a winner Mr. Shubham Ugale got the opportunity to perform Pakhawaj Solo at the prestigious Harvallabh Sangeet Samaroh last Year.
  • Our student Mr. Krushna Salunke got 1st Prize for Pakhawaj Performance in the competition organized by South Central Zone, Nagpur and First prize for Pakhawaj Performance in the competition organized by AIR Jalandhar. In 2017, he got the chance to perform Pakhawaj Solo in prestigious Harvallabh Sangeet Samaroh held at Jalandar.
  • Ujwal Gajbhar got 2nd prize in the competition 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' on ZEE Marathi Channel.
  • Mr. Shubham Ugale (Pakhawaj) and Mr. Ganesh Phapal (Pakhawaj) got 1st and 2nd Prize respectively in the competition conducted by ‘Saptak’ Ahmedabad.
  • Our student Abhishek Borkar got the prestigious Gan Saraswati Yuva award last year.
  • Our student Jidnesh Vaze got Second Prize in the music competition 'Sangeet Samrat' conducted on T.V. Channel Zee Yuva. His performances were highly appreciated.
  • Our student Omkar Ingawale got first prize in a competition “Dholaki Jhali Bolaki” organized by D.D. Sahyadri channel.
  • Ajit Lohor and Sujit Lohor received the Sangeet Ratna Award.
  • Our students Mr. Nahush Lotlikar got 1st Prize for Light Vocal, Mr. Anup Kulthe and Mr. Rajas Upadhye got 1st and 2nd Prize respectively in the competition conducted by AIR. Ms. Abha Auti got the prestigious Pta. Rohini Bhate Award from Pune Municipal Corporation.
  • ITC-SRA honored Ms. Namrata Gaikwad the award for most promising youth artist-2014.

  • MOOC Course - (Massive Open Online Course)

Our Director and Professor have major involvement in this course. Online Graduation Course of North Indian Classical Music under 'National Mission of Education' through ICT, a project of MHRD was successfully completed as Subject Expert and Coordinator by Prof. Sharangdhar Sathe, Director, BVDU. School of Performing Arts. As one of the new projects of MHRD Govt. of India, MOOC Course (Massive Open Online Course) in North Indian Classical Music was introduced. Prof. Sharangdhar Sathe, was invited as Subject Expert. Also, our faculty, Assistant Professor Mr. Pravin Kaslikar has been approved as Assistant Subject Expert for this project. These two members have successfully conducted and completed a total of three levels of the MOOC Course. Around 800 students enrolled for each course. Students of any University across India can complete this course and get additional four credits. This course is free of cost.

  • Renowned Vocalist and Musicologist Dr. Vikas Kashalkar - Because of his extensive work in the field of Music he has got Swaryogini Dr. Prabha Atre award from Gaanvardhan, Kritadnyata Puraskar from Sanskruti Manch Karad, Vishesh Gourav Puraskar in Pandita Kishori Amonkar Smriti Program. Pt. Vikas Kashalkar Foundation is established by his students at Pandharpur.
  • Renowned Bharatnatyam Dancer Pandita Sucheta Bhide – Chapekar – Because of her contribution in dance field, she has got the prestigious Rukminidevi award from Attendance Chennai and Master Dinanath Mangeshkar award from Shanmukhanand trust.
  • Renowned Tabla Maestro of Benares Gharana and our Senior Guru Pt. Arwind Kumar Azad received prestigious title of 'Sangeet Ratna' from 'Sam' Delhi in the year 2019.
  • Well known Tabla player Shri. Kishor Korade – Got Sangeet Ratna award in Gayaa (Bihar) and Yuva Ratna award by Pimpari Chinchawad Natya Parishad.
