Overview

India has a great cultural heritage. We have thousands of years of development of different forms of Art and Culture. Performing Arts is one of the most popular branches of various art forms. Performing Arts mainly consists of Music, Dance and Drama. In India, particularly in Maharashtra, there have been great traditions of performing arts, and culture. Today, there are thousands of youngsters who would like to learn these different forms of arts and culture. Moreover, there is a lot of scope for these students in films, theatre and television, as well as for live concerts / performances.

In order to cater to the needs of this section of population for learning and educating in the performing arts and also to produce professional artistes in the respective field, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) School of Performing Arts was established in 2008 to conduct courses at Graduate and Post Graduate level. It runs B.A. Music / B.A. Dance and M.A. Music / M.A. Dance, Ph.D. in Music / Dance courses, B.A. Theater and M.A. Theater, B.A. Kirtan. All these Graduation and Post Graduation courses are now run under NEP 2020.

Certificate – Diploma Courses in Classical Music / Dance are also been started. These courses have got tremendous response in India, America, Canada, Australia, U.A.E., Bahrain, Singapore Netherland  and Germany. These Certificate – Diploma Courses are been approved by Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Maharashtra. In the academic year 2016-17 one innovative course, Diploma in Kirtan (Naradiya and Varakari Style) is also started which has got excellent response. Certificate courses in Indian Light Music and Western Music are also available under BV now.
