The BVIMR IEEE Student Branch Membership Drive was organized on 21st January 2026 with the objective of enhancing awareness about IEEE and encouraging students to become part of the world's largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology. The initiative was designed to acquaint students with IEEE's global network, technical resources, professional development opportunities, and the numerous benefits associated with IEEE membership.
The programme commenced with an informative session introducing the vision, mission, and global impact of IEEE, followed by a detailed presentation on the opportunities available to student members, including access to technical societies, conferences, workshops, research collaborations, leadership roles, and professional networking. Mr. Kanav Gupta, Student Branch Convener, addressed the participants and emphasized the significance of active involvement in IEEE for academic enrichment and career development. Students were subsequently guided through the membership registration process, with dedicated assistance provided to ensure a seamless enrolment experience.
The membership drive received an encouraging response, with approximately 45 students registering their interest through the pre-event registration process and several completing their IEEE membership during the session. As a result of the initiative, the BVIMR IEEE Student Branch expanded its active membership to 37 members, reflecting the growing enthusiasm among students to engage in technical, professional, and leadership-oriented activities. The successful conduct of the drive reinforced the Student Branch's commitment to fostering a vibrant culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the institution.
