Research Programme

The research focus is to study pharmacological and nutritional aspects of linseed and omega-3 fatty acid. Earlier, extensive work on isolation and characterization of lignan from linseed and evaluation of its pharmacological efficacy in combination with omega-3 fatty acid in metabolic disorders was carried out. The present research program focused on development of value added products from flaxseed for developing omega-3 fortified functional food and evaluating its safety, efficacy, stability and acceptability.
