RESEARCH EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Ph.D. in Biotechnology (April 2017- August 2022)

PhD Title: “Maternal Vitamin D and its Association with Angiogenesis in Preeclampsia” under the guidance of Dr. Sadhana R. Joshi

My Ph.D. work is focused on to understand the association of maternal vitamin D status with the risk of preeclampsia. It includes human as well as animal study (Rat model of Preeclampsia). The Animal study examines the role of vitamin D deficiency and supplementation in a rat model of preeclampsia; we found a promising role of vitamin D in ameliorating the symptoms of preeclampsia and improving placental angiogenesis. Our human cohort study includes examination of vitamin D levels across gestation (at each trimester and at delivery) in women with or without preeclampsia.
