BVIEER’s Bioacoustic Research Bags ANRF Early Career Funding
We are pleased to announce that our project titled “Bridging the Gap: Translating Bioacoustic Data into Actionable Conservation Insights” has been awarded funding under the Early Career Research Grant Scheme of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) established to promote high-quality research and innovation across disciplines in India. The project will be carried out under the guidance of Dr Sougata Sadhukhan, Assistant Professor, BVIEER. The three-year project, commencing July 2025, has been sanctioned a total budget of Rs 50 lakhs. It aims to advance the use of bioacoustic monitoring for biodiversity conservation. By integrating large-scale acoustic datasets with ecological models and decision-support tools, the project seeks to generate actionable insights for conservation practitioners and policymakers.
