Programme Overview

M.D. (Psychiatry) is a three-year postgraduate programme that deals with mental health and emotional/behavioural disorders. Through M.D. (Psychiatry), the students will be able to learn more about the major psychiatric syndromes and learn the diagnostic and treatment methods. The programme will also dive deeper into the method of counselling and medication, which is used to treat patients.

Programme Outcomes

Understanding of the Subject - - Students will be able to demonstrate a sufficient understanding of the theories and basic sciences of the concerned speciality.
Building of Skills – Through the programme, the students will be able to learn how to diagnose and treat various disorders.
Research –Learning the basic concept of research methodology and epidemiology will be one of the biggest objectives during the programme duration. Students will also learn how to analyze research literature.
