Programme Overview

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral Pathology and Microbiology is a three-year duration programme. While pursuing this programme, the students get to learn about the causes, effects, nature, characteristics and diagnosis of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. They also have to study about the immune system, so that an appropriate treatment can be facilitated for the same.

Programme Outcomes

  • icon Application of Basic knowledge - Once the students have completed the course, they will be able to apply the basic knowledge for both the oral as well as the general pathology and identify the cause, nature of the disease and its impact.
  • icon Research Methodology - Carry out the research projects by using the appropriate methodology to collect and analyse the data as well as undertake research projects pertaining to clinical and or epidemiological aspects.
  • icon Interpretation and examination of specimens of tissues - Students learn about the interpretation of the tissues and also about pathologic cellular change microscopically.
