Programme Overview

Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology is a two-year post-graduation course. This course focuses more on the application of biology and chemistry advanced knowledge in the field of technology engineering and design. Biotechnology uses living organisms to produce bio products which have applicants in multiple fields.

Programme Outcomes

Develop critical thinking - Students who have completed M.Sc in biotechnology will be able to solve problems related to biotechnology industry, medical or hospital related organisations as well as regulatory agencies and academia
Responsibilities towards healthcare sector - Work towards the safety and health of the society by effectively communicating the right steps that need to be taken during critical situations
Interpretation of Data - Ability to analyse and interpret the data that has been generated on completion of the experiments and various projects that have been undertaken

Eligibility

The candidate should have passed B.Sc. from any recognized university or its equivalent examination in any of the subjects, Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Agriculture / Life Sciences / Chemistry /Zoology / Botany with minimum 50% aggregate in the respective subjects. (45% in case of SC / ST).

On completion of the postgraduate degree in Biotechnology, students can pursue higher education to get into the research and teaching aspect of biotechnology.
