Programme Overview

A two-year postgraduate programme, Master of Science (Speech Language Pathology) focuses on imparting advanced knowledge about the assessment and management of speech, language and swallowing disorders. In accordance with the recommendations of the RCI, New Delhi, the programme is designed to provide theoretical, clinical and research skills to create professional experts in the field.

Programme Outcomes

Students of M.Sc. (SLP) program will be equipped with knowledge and skills to

  • icon function as teachers and researchers in institutions of higher learning,
  • icon diagnose and manage disorders of speech, language, and swallowing across life span,
  • icon counsel and guide persons with disorders of speech, language and swallowing as well as their family members,
  • icon implement rehabilitation programs for persons with speech, language and swallowing disorders,
  • icon to function as the disability certification authority in the field,
  • icon liaise with professionals in allied fields and other stake holders,
  • icon implement prevention and public education programs,
  • icon undertake advocacy measures on behalf of and for persons with speech, language and swallowing disorders,
  • icon advise government and other institutions on legal and policy issues related to persons with communication disorders, and
  • icon to establish and manage institutions in the field.

Eligibility

Candidates with a B.ASLP or B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) degree of any University recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India or any other degree considered as equivalent thereto as per regulations of Rehabilitation Council of India

M.Sc (SLP) graduates can pursue a Ph.D. degree in SLP or work in the clinical and/or research field in following set ups:
