Programme Overview

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biotechnology is a three-year graduation course. This course teaches students enrolling at one of the best BSc colleges in Pune, ways to use technology and biology together to create useful products. In this course, students will study subjects like Organic Mechanisms in Biology, Microbial Genetics, Molecular Genetics, DNA Typing, Proteomics & Beyond, etc.

Programme Outcomes

Eligibility

Candidates who have successfully passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2course) or equivalent examination with a minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and /or Mathematics and passed in English, from a recognized board are eligible for admission to the First year of the B.Sc. Biotechnology course.

B.Sc. Biotech (Sem I to IV) CBCS 2023 Course Structure

Currently PhD (International Max Planck Research School- Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, Bad Nauheim, Germany) Post Doctoral Researcher (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen,Germany). The RGITBT Institute has provided me the access to the scientific community. It was here that I developed the strength and courage to envision myself having a successful scientific career, not just in INDIA but also internationally. The curriculum and practical knowledge imparted to students at RGITBT are among the best I've seen. My journey began at RGITBT, and it has been fantastic thus far. My journey in RGITBT has been a special one. RGITBT faculty is extremely supportive, positive and knowledgeable. Curriculum is designed in such a way that students learn a lot of practical experimental setups which helped me in my Masters as well. Currently I am a final year M.Sc student from NIT, Durgapur, West Bengal and I recently qualified CSIR-UGC NET with 129th rank. I intent to pursue PhD in future.

It's a great institute for biotechnology, you will get lots of lab exposure with high class education with highly qualified faculties. Apart from academics RGITBT provide cultural fest, educational tour, sports, national competition and science expo. You will get managerial skill too by becoming CR of the class, it's up to you. RGTIBT also have NSS (national service scheme) department which provide you root level experience to education, self development, selfless service, and volunteer work. There will be 1 week NSS camp for NSS members ina village where you get the great experience. Over all it was a great journey here. Thank you RGITBT
