One week The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI-Driven Pedagogy & Research: Aligning with Emerging Industry Needs” was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), College of Engineering, Pune on 20th January 2026.
The FDP is being organized by the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in association with in SkillsMetrix, and is technically sponsored by IEEE Power Engineering, and Industry Applications Society, and IEEE Pune Section with the objective of enhancing faculty competence in Artificial Intelligence applications for teaching and research.
The programme was graced by Hon’ble Dr. Vivek Saoji, Vice Chancellor, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, and Mr. Amarjeet Singh Arora, Director & Founder, Skillsmetrix. The dignitaries present for the inauguration included Principal :Dr. Rajesh Prasad, Vice Principal; Dr. Sachin Chavan, and Dr. Sunita Jadhav, Head of Department :Dr. Deepak Bankar, and FDP Coordinators : Prof. Ayesha A. Sayyad & Prof. Rupali Salunkhe
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vivek Saoji sir highlighted the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence across all domains and emphasized the need for awareness and responsible use of AI. He urged faculty members to master AI tools rather than becoming dependent on them, stating that educators should remain leaders and decision-makers while leveraging AI effectively.
Chief Guest Mr. Amarjeet Singh Arora elaborated on the one-week FDP schedule and discussed how AI-driven tools and methodologies would significantly benefit participants in research innovation and modern teaching practices. He emphasized industry-aligned learning and the relevance of AI in shaping future-ready educators.
Dr. Deepak Bankar, addressed the gathering by highlighting the department’s achievements and discussed the objectives and significance of the FDP.
The FDP aims to equip participants with practical insights into AI-enabled pedagogy and research methodologies, fostering academic excellence and alignment with emerging industry needs.
