Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed To Be University) College of Engineering, Pune is committed to helping our students to get hired by top recruiters through campus placements.

COEP has a separate department named Training & Placement which aims to lace maximum number of students in reputed IT and core manufacturing, infrastructure companies. To achieve this aim, the department has a continuous interaction with industries to have an idea of what the industries expect from our students. On average 86% of eligible students with average marks more than 85% get placed through campus placements.

This department has modern infrastructure facilities like auditorium of 200 seating capacity, Group Discussion Room, Interview Rooms and office automation equipments like LCD projector and Laptop etc.

In addition, the placement department coordinates the activities like arranging on Job training, industrial visits and career guidance lectures to students.

Mr. Pramod Dastoorkar as Associate Director – Training & Placements Department at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune (BVCOEP)

Mr. Dastoorkar holds a Master of Engineering (Design) from Pune University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.

With an illustrious career of over 25 years—comprising 19 years in Engineering Placements and 7 years in Industry—he brings a rich blend of academic insight, industry exposure, and strategic expertise. Renowned for his career guidance, student counselling, employability assessments, and dynamic placement initiatives, he has successfully facilitated placements for more than 12,000 students.

He has spearheaded the organization of 100+ pool campus recruitment drives in collaboration with leading corporations such as IBM, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, L&T Infotech, Capgemini, and others. His association with Zensar and Persistent in employability certifications and CSR initiatives has been particularly noteworthy.

In his previous leadership roles, Mr. Dastoorkar was elected as Vice Chairman of Federation of Training and Placement Office, Pune. He has experience with major prominent engineering colleges in Pune. Beyond his institutional engagements, Mr. Dastoorkar is committed to spreading awareness and knowledge across platforms. His YouTube channel, dedicated to placement awareness, features 450+ videos, has garnered 10,000+ subscribers, and has crossed 1 million views, making a nationwide impact on aspiring professionals.

Career Counselling

Career counselling is a domain of counseling that focuses on helping individuals find the right career pathway. Here, the individuals receive guidance from reputed professional counselors that provide expert advice on the potentials, aptitude, motivations, skills and shortcomings with the use of carefully designed assessment tools. These assessment tools are both subjective and objective. After carefully studying the individual's interests and aptitude, career counselors guide individuals to set their career goals.

We work along with the counsellors in respective domains. They determine the individual's strengths, weaknesses, learning patterns and their interests. Usually, tools aptitude test, IQ, soft skills are used to understand the individual. Based on the reports the counselor then works along with the individual to find for a potential career choice. From helping choose the right organization and higher studies, the counselor guides the individual in mapping the entire pathway to the desired goal.

With increasingly myriad career options rising, career counselling has become an essential part of people's life. Students after completing their 12th are often indecisive of what to do further. This indecisiveness could be resulting in social pressure, lack of parental guidance, multiple career options, ignorance of personal potentials etc., We analyze these issues effectively. Although career counselling is vital to all age groups, teenagers can benefit most from it. Besides students, career counseling is also helpful to employees who have already chosen a career and are not satisfied with it. These individuals are redirected towards their goals and are given insight into their professional orientation. Career counselors also link students to experts who represent as models to encourage and to positively reinforce the students. Factors like life satisfaction, self-efficacy, happiness etc.are all co-dependent to job satisfaction therefore there is a lot of importance given to career counselling.

Employment Training Programmes

Employability enhancement programs are crafted in order to bridge the gap between skills possessed by the employees and the abilities that are looked for by the organization. These programs assist the students who are in third year of graduation. Assisting the students to jump-start their career by securing employment at the renowned organization is the main purpose of EEP.

The significant aspects that are included in the EEP which are given substantial importance include:

There has been observed that majority of the individuals lack the particular skills required by the organization making them not eligible for the job. Thus these individuals face problems to get employed or find a job that is suitable for them. Assisting the candidates to enhance and instill certain skill-set among themselves to attain proper employment on the basis of their abilities and potential is our main aim. Our journey of employment starts from second year by making them aware about the Industry through the Industrial Visits which is assisted by Faculty member. This is further continued by extending the knowledge that is gained during the Industrial Visits by taking further in the form of mini project, major project and Inplant Training.

The unerringly employment program aims to acquire solutions through one-of-the-kind skill training that assure the achievement of the employment goals. We offer a platform for aspiring candidates to comprehend the requirements of the companies and possess the correct blend of knowledge, talents, and attributes. Employability Enhancement Program develops employability skills in students through experiential learning. The program features include the assessment of the candidate’s skills through the number of analytical tests. Development of various skills such as strategically planning, leadership qualities, an Entrepreneurship Development, verbal communication, confident and definitive body language, positive attitude, aptitude tests, GD/PI, and other mock interviews are the few aspects of our agenda.

It enhances an individual’s interactions, job and career prospects. Whether it involves face to face customer interaction or even indirect correspondence over telephone or e-mail, employees adept at Employability skills will achieve both individual as well as organizational success.
