The Induction Programme for First-Year Law Students was conducted at NLC, Pune, from 18 to 20 August 2026. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Shashikant Hajare, who welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of their academic and professional journey.
Day One featured Adv. Rohas Nagpal on “Legal AI: Transforming the Practice of Law,” focusing on the responsible use of AI and critical thinking. Mr. Nihar Hasabnis of Muktangan Rehabilitation Centre addressed “Breaking the Cycle: Understanding Drugs & Alcohol Addiction, Prevention, and Recovery,” emphasizing awareness, prevention, and responsible choices.
Day Two comprised sessions on mental well-being, trial advocacy, career opportunities, and alternative dispute resolution. Dr. Manish Machave discussed work-life balance and resilience; Adv. Pushkar Patil introduced the foundations of trial advocacy; Ms. Shuchi Nagpal explored diverse career pathways in law; and Adv. Gokul Narayan explained dispute resolution mechanisms beyond litigation.
Day Three began with Adv. Priyanka Bakshi’s session on building a legal career, focusing on communication, judgment reading, and networking. Dr. Jyoti Dharm addressed anti-ragging provisions and introduced institutional cells and committees. Dr. Jayashree Khandare explained the ERP portal, examination scheme, and academic procedures. The programme concluded with Dr. Arti Dive, who summarized the key learnings from the three-day programme.
Overall, the induction programme provided students with essential insights into legal education, professional development, career opportunities, well-being, institutional processes, and the legal profession, enabling them to begin their law-school journey with greater awareness and confidence.
