Academic Facilities

Located in the Pune campus, the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has a well-designed infrastructure that will allow the students to have a comfortable academic life.

The infrastructure consists of academic, hostel, sports and other extra-curricular facilities. Students are provided with state-of-the-art academic facilities in IHMCT to ensure that they have access to all of the equipment needed to become competent professionals in their chosen fields.

Classrooms

The IHMCT campus’ building is well-spaced and has classrooms with all required facilities to help with the academic journey of the students. Since the classrooms are the place where the students will spend most of their time, they have been prepared to make the students comfortable.

Labs

During their academic years, the students will be able to access the computer laboratories where a qualified instructor will provide them with basic instructions and assistance. The computer laboratories have good internet access and a variety of software applications.

Seminar Halls

IHMCT has well-equipped seminar halls that are used by faculty and visiting individuals for seminars, conferences or any other programmes. All of the facilities offered by the seminar halls are of the highest quality.

Institute Building

The institute is located in Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) campus in the city of Pune. Pune, popularly known as Oxford of east, is located on Deccan Plateau, 560mtrs above sea level with an area of 700sq.km. The city has pleasant weather and temperature ranges between minimum 100C to maximum 370 C. Its commitment to providing our students with the best hospitality education begins with the fundamentals- infrastructure and facilities. The spacious building measuring 4500 sqm. houses the following well-equipped laboratories.

Hospitality Training Centre

The institute has a tastefully designed five star Hospitality Training Centre with 35 Double Rooms and 6 Suites, one Conference room and one Coffee-Shop, to have hands- on experience for the students. The Hospitality Training Centre is in service for the faculty/ examiners who visit Bharati Vidyapeeth Educational Complex.

Training Kitchen and Bakery

The institute offers well-equipped kitchens to teach and give practical training to the students regarding the essentials of cooking and baking. Some of the highlights of the training kitchen are given below.

The Basic Training Kitchen trains aspiring chefs to develop or acquire basic culinary skills.
The Quantity Training Kitchen gives the students an opportunity to cook in large quantities (for example 300 people) daily so that they are able to understand institutional and industrial/volume catering.
The Advanced Training Kitchen helps the students to explore the culinary traditions of various regions/countries of the world and the indigenous flavour combinations of the different regions of India.
The Bakery Unit is essential for the students to learn the art and science of baking and confectionery.

Restaurant & Bar

To Give Front And Back Of The House Experience Of Serving Customers At The Tables The Institute Has A Training Restaurant and Bar.

Housekeeping

The institute houses a tastefully designed model guestroom to give the students a feel of five star ambience. The department also has a well equipped laundry and linen room.

Front Office/Reception

It has a well- equipped Desk with reservation system and sample records to give the students a real life experience of handling Front Office operations.
