The Department of Pharmacology, Bharati Vidyapeeth University,

Department of Pharmacology aims to provide quality preclinical education in pharmacology for the students of B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D and Ph.D.

The department trains post graduate and Ph.D research scholars


  • To carry out preclinical research for development of new drugs for the treatment of diseases.
  • To understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of drug actions and
  • To derive the intermolecular reactions underlying biological systems.

The Department of pharmacology is equipped with all the required instruments and animals to carry out the research activities by the Post graduates and Research Scholars.

The faculty of Department of Pharmacology is actively involved as research coordinators in executing projects related to arthritis, cancer, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, endurance, In vitro and in vivo assay development, cardiovascular system, psychopharmacology, neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, respiratory disorders, drug delivery systems, drug interaction studies and toxicological evaluation.

The faculty have research projects from various funding agencies like AICTE, UGC, NAIP, Ministry of AYUSH and they have been involved in collaborative research with academic, research institutions, and national and international industries.

A well-equipped animal house is maintained by the Department which is registered with Committee for the Purpose of Control and supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA), Government of India.
